This city on the central Vietnamese coast is a well-preserved example of the important Southeast Asian trading port it was from the 15th-19th centuries. Already a common stop for backpackers, it is becoming better known to tourists. On the 14th day of each lunar month, the town trades its electric lights for traditional colored lanterns. Sights include the Japanese Covered Bridge and the Quan Cong Temple. Let the town’s expert tailors make you some bespoke clothing.

I had such a great time seeing the city by night and trying so many delicious foods in Hue! The guide was very informative and told me a lot about the history of the city and the general day-to-day life living in Hue. She even recommended some things for me to do for the rest of my trip. I am so happy I did this tour and it was one of my favorite parts of my time in the city! I can’t wait to return to Hue one day.

Ha, our guide, gave us a unique off the beaten path experience. He is a wonderful man and made the experience all the more fun. Our first day we did the walking food tour, visiting many local vendors to try local "Hoi An" noodles, amazing Banh Mi, lotus ice tea, and more. We were able to see the heart of Hoi An while trying 10+ local dishes. Our second day we did a bike tour visiting many local homes -- a rice wine maker, mat weaver, noodle maker, and coconut boat ride. It was a great way to see local life! Our third day we got up early to do a motorbike tour. I was very nervous getting on one, but quickly became comfortable. This was by far my favorite day! We rode into the countryside to see local fish markets, the most amazing coffee shop, and a local farm. We met the lady who tended to the farm and were even able to help her plant. If you are ever in Hoi An, I highly reccommend Hoi An private tour guides!

My husband and I were charmed by this city feeling very lucky we could visit it without large crowds. Our time there was enhanced by a dynamic tour guide duo- Nam and Bong. Both are enthusiastic and carry a wealth of knowledge that they share without hesitation and grace. We were lucky to enjoy several tours by Urban Adventures during our time in Hoi An and are continually impressed with the calibre of guides. You cannot beat the insider's perspective.
