We had a tour of the Old Pumphouse which is a National Landmark. Learning about the pumping of water from the Rio Grande. The private tour is well worth the admission price. Included in the tour is a tremendous railroad display the Rio Grande valley. The layout tells the story of the life and times within the towns of the valley. Displays in the pumphouse tell the story of the people and the power, as the history of the pumphouse unfolds from the early 1900s to 1993. The effects of the hummican and the movement of the channel was very interesting.
