Visit the wineries and the township of beautiful Eger, Hungary’s northernmost red-wine-producing region on this private day trip from Budapest. With a private wine-expert guide, taste five to eight wines at each of three wineries including ‘Bull’s Blood’ (Egri Bikavér), the region’s most prominent red. Though better known for its reds, it also produces many whites (including native varietals like Leányka and Királyleányka). Several of Eger’s best wineries are located in villages outside of town, but the town of Eger itself has played an important role in Hungary’s history, and is worth taking some time to explore. My husband and I had a two person wine tasting (given to me as a birthday gift) and we had an AMAZING experience! Because of the COVID situation, private tasting are be offered at the group price and so we had the entire place to ourselves. We tasted 5 wines, if I remember correctly, and were each given our own charcuterie plate to complement the wines. We learned so much about the history of wine in Hungary and the different regions. Highly recommend - was a very special experience.

Hungarian wines really are worth the trip. The tour hit 3 local producers who were very committed to their craft. Tour guide did a fine job. Very little wine gets exported so it’s wine bars in Budapest and tours that get you the experience.

We had an incredible tour with Idilko and a private driver in a Mercedes van (he was not introduced by he was very competent!). My husband and I did the tour with my 80 year old parents and both staff were kind and patient and showed us the highlights of the city while keeping in mind to avoid long walks or lots of stairs. Idilko is incredibly knowledgable about the long and interesting history of her city. We really enjoyed getting to know beautiful Budapest; we’ll be back!

We were honored to be Petra's first Customer who booked through her new website and company to tour the Budapest Jewish Quarter. We had a wonderful 4 hours of Petra's dedicated time and enjoyed the wealth of knowledge she brought to the 4 of us as we learned about the Budapest Jewish Heritage and Culture. Petra clearly has a passion for the history and culture of Budapest, and was able to present it so clearly to all of us. Her English was excellent, and her knowledge of the Jewish people was very strong, even though she is not Jewish herself. We suspect Petra would be an excellent tour guide in any area Around Budapest, but unfortunately, we only had time to use her expertise for the Jewish Quarter. Thank you Petra for the wonderful morning you spent with us.
