The winery is open to visitors all year round (after appointment). The visitors' wine experience starts even before arriving at the winery, as the route and the surrounded landscape is filled with images that emphasize the viticulturist character of the region. The tour starts from the production areas of the winery, continues at the cellar and ends at the tasting room where the guest then has the opportunity to taste our wines. Please contact earlier to inform us about your visit for wine tasting (via booking form/phone/email). There is a tasting fee of 8-12€ per person. Opening hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00-15:30, after appointment.
My sister and I went to the winery for the tour and tasting in September 2020. Guys were harvesting at that time, so we were lucky to witness some production processes like grape crushing :D The nice lady guide took us through the the place explaining how the wine is made from A to Z. We ended in the tasting room and the wine was delish) Refreshing whites, mouthwatering reds, absolutely Devine desert wines... People, go there and try it yourself! ) I regret we didn’t take home a bottle of Helios ( Was looking for it at the airport with no luck Anyhow, the Alargo Syrah we tried at the winery made a safe trip to London and is waiting for a special occasion to make it even more special Thank you, Douloufakis Winery!

1st of November to 1st of April all tastings are by appointment only. The Domaine Paterianakis is located in a semi-mountainous area of an approximate altitude 650 m, near to the "Melesses" village of the Municipality of Nikos Kazantzakis of Heraklion Prefecture on Crete Island. The wider region of "Peza", where the Domaine belongs, is reputed since ancient times for the excellent quality and the exceptional taste of the wines that were produced there. The vineyards of the Domaine belong to a biologically sensitive area appellation of origin Peza of high quality. Domaine Paterianakis is a pioneer in wine production from organic farming grapes on Crete.
Thanks to Nicky Paterianaki for taking the time to conduct a wine tasting and tell us the history of this family owned winery now run by a generation of daughters. Beautiful setting for the tasting and great to learn about the indigenous varieties in this PDO region. Kudos for producing such fine organic wines and taking care of the environment.

Enjoy the experience of escape with time as the opponent! Using your mind, you have to solve the puzzles, to find the keys and the passwords, and to manage to escape inside the time limit!
Based on the difficulty levels, we chose the Holy Secret room. The clues were not too easy, and it required some skill as well. When we became stuck, the talented game master gave helpful clues to move us along in the right pace. Very interesting riddles and great actors making the whole experience even more exciting!

A Venetian building of 15th century, in the historical center of Heraklion housing a relatively unknown aspect of Ancient Greek culture through the exhibition “Hi-Tech Inventions of Ancient Greeks”. Come along on a guided and virtual tour of an exceptional selection of unique inventions of the Ancient Greeks. Discover that their technology, just before the end of the ancient World, was extremely similar to the beginning of our modern technology.
Crete is full of incredible history, but this is a really fun educational center that’s very different than anything else here. This place is about the engineering and technologies that were invented by the Greeks and Romans. These are all recreations from ancient texts so we can see how they worked. My favorite was Plato’s alarm clock. Between their steam turbine and the hydraulics, they were one step away from inventing an engine. It shows you that renaissance men like Da Vinci, may have studied these same works from Plato, Archimedes, Ptolemy, Euclid, Pythagoras, and others, which allowed them to take it to the next level with their own inventions.

A museum delineating the history of the island Crete, complete with artifacts belonging to the ancient civilizations that once populated the island.
Excellent museum! It provides great historical lessons and context for the items on display and lays them out in such a way that you can walk through history and see the progression of technology from the early Bronze Age up to the early Iron Age. Interesting historical contexts about the economics of the various times and how the political system was structured in early Crete. Worth the price of admission.
