The very heart of central Helsinki and a very evocative park it is. I live nearby and often pass through it on my way to the shops, or just walk down it when the weather is good. Very clean, well manicured, with lots of benches as well as frequent free musical exhibitions on the covered stage at one end.

The old original indoor market hall of Helsinki in the southern harbour in city center is a very beuatiful, historical buliding. Still in use as a market for various food, nice cafeterias. Delicious local and international fresh food and dishes, berries, vegetables, fruits, cheese, bread, fish, sandwiches, salads, ice cream etc. Nice and cool in summer time.

It is a very beautiful library both because of its architecture and its impressive collection of books.

Nice place if you want to do some uphill running either on a path or stairs. A lot of people around though, can be a bit crowded. If you come by car there's plenty of parking space.

We visited this 127-year-old garden on 31 October. We were surprised the roses were still in full bloom in the Rose Garden in front of the Winter Garden. The autumn has been exceptionally warm. The garden is best known for its glass building that has three parts: a palm room, a cactus room, and a west wing. Here you can experience the greenery also during the winter months. The entrance is free.

Had the pleasure of visiting the Helsinki University Library on a walking tour of the city, and it was the one stop I wish we could have spent more time to wander and soak in the amazing architecture. If I had a free afternoon, I would love to just settle in here and read or listen to music.

Hakaniemi Market is set along the waterfront and features countless vendors selling fresh produce, fish and other local food, clothing, jewelry, local goods, and handmade crafts. During our visit, there was live music, the vendors and people were friendly and fun, the food was very good, the crafts and jewelry were unique and very nice, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Overall, we enjoyed strolling through the market.

Loved this place. Enjoyed browsing through the many food stalls - try the berries and also the fish dishes (salmon, herring, etc. with potatoes and vegetables). Had fun browsing through the handicrafts and souvenirs as well! And of course, many people relaxing by the seafront.

Tennis Palace is a cultural and recreational center in Kamppi. It houses a Finnkino movie theatre, the Helsinki City Art Museum (HAM), some restaurants and bars. Tennispalatsi was built in 1938 for the 1940 Summer Olympics. This functionalist building had four tennis courts. In the 1952 Summer Olympics the basketball games were held here. In 1999 it was converted to Finnkino movie theater with 14 auditoriums and 2532 seats. Tennispalatsi was the first cinema in the world offering THX and SDDS (Sony Dynamic Digital Sound) in all halls. The largest auditorium Scape has 635 seats and a large 185 square meter screen.

If you are interested in history, Senate Square and the whole area around it give you a strong perception and understanding of the history of Finland and of its cultural heritage. The square is enormous. Even the dominant Helsinki Cathedral can look somewhat small, if you are opposite it, standing afar on Senate Square. There's also a memorable statue of Alexander II there, and the square is beautifully surrounded by a range of famous historic buildings - Sederholm House, The Government Palace, The University of Helsinki. Senate Square was designed by a very famous, accomplished architect C.L.Engel in the middle of the 19th century. Being definitely a tourist attraction, Senate Square is a beautiful place to visit.
