Although the once glittering Last Chance Creek has long dried up, Helena's Gold Rush history is reflected in its preserved architecture, from the spires of St. Helena Cathedral and the Queen Anne style Original Governor's Mansion to the restored miner's village of Reeder's Alley and the oldest house in the city, Pioneer Cabin. For those seeking adventure, the paths of Mount Helena Park provide ample activity. Helena also offers much in the way of arts and culture with theaters and galleries.

As a fan of artistic stained glass, this has an amazing amount of lovely pieces through out, two tiers worth of pieces to admire. And the back story of the glass-works from Germany are part of the cities train tour, which enhances the beauty of the building. If you are fortunate, the huge bronze pipe organ may be playing as you view the bibilical artwork.

Located in Helena's Great Northern Town Center, this world-class, hand-carved work of art consists of 37 animals carved by a renowned Walt Disney World carver and 14 Helena scenic-carved rounding boards and stained glass artwork. In fact, the National Carousel Association said it is the finest carousel in the nation, if not one of the finest in the world.
This was a fun carousel. We had to pay on a machine to get our tickets. There. When the carousel ended, we could go at the carousel. During the carousel, they threw messages. One was for a free ride carousel. My wife gave it to a girl. She was so happy. We felt we were kids again! Worthwhile to see!

The Four Cees (Color, Carat, Cut & Clarity) are all to be found at MBJM and Bruce, Nina, And Eric graciously taught me the mining basics and provided a nice tour of their operation and explained a lot about sapphire mining on the Missouri River. Quite an experience and so exciting when you find your gems. Be prepared (hat, water, snack, and perhaps rubber gloves), but they provide everything else. It is an authentic outdoors setting at an operating sapphire mine and you will need to work if you want to find them.

While we were walking we saw a statue named : The Bull Whacker. It is a statue with a bullwhacker. It is a part of the past. This started during Helena's Gold Rush days. The oxen reacted to the crack of the whip above their heads and curses as well. It is a reminder from the past. Worthwhile to see!
