Fuel your imagination as you walk around Hawkes Bay’s largest Hand’s-on Interactive Museum. It’s a fascinating, family-friendly place, a place where children of all ages can have fun while learning. You can immerse yourself in an Aladdin’s Cave of technology, science and history. Explore our large collection of vintage machines, gadgets, or simply take a trip down memory lane while playing in the arcade, or phoning a friend the old fashioned way.
If you have a place in your heart for nostalgia, you will love this museum. From pedal cars to Horse drawn Hearse, or 1950s School Dental Clinic, you will find plenty to take you back to the "good old days"!

"Welcome to Our Gallery" VIVA gallery collective is a mix of professional, and emerging Hawke’s Bay artists .It is completely financed and operated by its members,- all sharing the passion, time and costs involved in running this gallery.-You will meet a dfferent artist in the gallery every day. VIVA includes painters, ceramics, glass, pottery, jewellery, and sculpture in stone, wood, and clay.
We love Penny Madden the artist so pop in whenever we have a chance. The staff are really helpful and I recommend everyone to visit if you're in the area. The idea that this is a collective is so cool - Hawke's Bay people we need to support our retail and nurture our artists - art helps to make the world a beautiful place.

Birdwoods Gallery is a very special place in the heart of Hawke's Bay. Set in the countryside just 3km from Havelock North Village, Birdwoods Gallery and its small companion, the Birdwoods Sweet Shop, are a 'must see' for young and old. Three historic buildings have been relocated to this pretty rural setting and transformed to become a distinctive and enchanting visitor attraction. Enjoy our famous morning or afternoon tea or come for a delicious garden lunch with family or friends. (Lunch bookings recommended). End it off with a delicious real fruit ice-cream from our little Ice Cream Shop (summer time) or an espresso coffee and cake. Birdwoods is a place 'Where Everything has a Story'.
I knew the venue had an art gallery and sweet shop - what I also found was a gorgeous oasis of lawn, trees and stunning large stone sculptures at very reasonable prices. There was live music, so wandering around the sculptures with a fresh fruit ice cream was a delight. There is also and extensive cafe, indoor art and craft gallery and then the cute sweet shop. This is a lovely place for family to visit. This would also make a great venue for an event, with a cute private room within the garden.

Central Hawkes Bay is rich in history, Waipawa being one of the earliest inland towns in New Zealand. Our authentic and visitor-friendly displays showcase an extensive collection of local and national treasures. These include farming, taonga Maori, military and Victorian household displays. Frequently changing exhibitions are vital part of the museum's attraction and a large photographic collection is of much interest to the genealogist.
Great displays of early settler life and plenty of interactive displays and installations to keep the whole family interest. Also now includes a great insight into Maori culture with an additional display.
