We truly lucked out and found the lighthouse OPEN on a Friday afternoon!!! We LOVED being able to walk to the top. There is a ladder at the top that you have to climb up to see out. Even my husband and I as senior citizens were able to safely climb up and down the ladder and so glad we did. Friendly volunteer there to greet us. It is FREE, but donations are accepted. We appreciate it being open and yes, we made a donation.....of our own choosing. Well worth seeing and doing!

Decoys and the hunting life is not part of my existence. But the museum explains the whys and wherefores of decoy use. There are exhibits of how decoys are made as well as various watercraft from which people hunt. There are examples of various rifles and shotguns used. But go upstairs! Here, the artform of decoys is is full glory. Beautiful examples of a different genre of art.

I booked this weekend getaway online via the Maryland State Park web page which was very intuitive. The check-in process at the gate was fast and the staff was very friendly and enthused about her job. Finding the campsite we reserved was very easy to find. My family and I stayed at campsite 25, which was ideal since we were very close to the bathroom facilities.
The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. There is a laundry room, but most people use it to wash dishes. It's basically a very large stainless steel double sink with hot and cold water. The men's restroom has two showers, one with a bench that can be folded up for more room. The other shower has a shower caddy to store your soap, razor, washcloth, etc..
The campsite itself is maintained well. My only suggestion is to replace the fire-ring/grill as it's showing its wear and tear.
There are many trails, beautiful scenery and just an overall great park to stay or visit for the day.
There is no pool, but there is one about 6 or 7 miles way which was great and very large to accommodate a lot of people.

Right off I-95 at exit 89 (less than a minute)-just went to a wine tasting there. Beautiful views of the Susquehanna River and vineyard. All wines designed with the history of the town or the house/vineyard itself. Wonderful hospitality. Perfect break from I-95 traffic. Has signs on the highway.
Have been there many times. Love the Redfish red wine! View of the water is breathtaking!!! There is no food to purchase but they will let you take your own which I haven't done. With the weather getting g nicer I will be outside enjoyi g the view with a glass of wine! Love it there. Owners are super nice.

This is a small, but wonderful maritime museum, interpreting the rich heritage of the Chesapeake Bay. There are relics on display, as well as recreations of boats and fishing paraphernalia. The museum also offers a wide range of event programming, from lectures to singers to fundraising cookouts.
The staff is friendly and very helpful, always willing to answer questions. The location is ideal, just yards from the Bay, close to the historic Havre de Grace lighthouse, and adjacent to a wonderful waterfront promenade. Well worth a visit.

The Stepping Stone Museum is not just a collection of historical farming equipment, but rather, a place where the older crafts and skills are demonstrated by very, very, keen artisans. I have taken groups there, school groups go there...Why? Because the people are quite lovely and caring..The demonstrable skills are fascinating....so much so that the past really does come alive. Well worth the stop
