The temple is on the hillock with breathtaking views around. Its a jain pilgrimage with large monolithic statue of lord gomateshwara( dedicated to Jain figure Bahubali), a arduous climb of 300+ steps to reach which is worth a visit. People with heart issues if visiting need to take this climb slowly and take care.

Belur is amazing and well worth a visit as the carving is wonderful. It ranks with place like Angkor Was and should be on more itineraries. Halebid is more inside detail and choose the former if pressed for time

Opens only once a year for around 15 days during deepawali. It is the main deity of city of Hassan. Expect very long queues for darshan.

Temple was another architecture wonder at its own level. Ofcourse you can't compare it with Belur or halebeedu. The priest comes to the temple after seeing visitors for doing pooja as he stays in opposite house. Overall had very nice dharshan of the lord. Parking will be a problem on crowded days.

Easy hike with multiple Jain temples. Lot of history. Last place of chandraguta maurya. Make sure to go to the cave besides the temple complex and meditate for 2-3 minutes. Feels good. You need to climb the hill without shoes - hence carry socks to save u from blisters!

Very nice hoysala style temple about 10 kms from Hassan. Temple is well preserved and has been added to protected monuments by Archaeological survey of India. The sculptures here are reminiscent of art at Belur and Halebidu which share similar themes. Not many people visit this place and one could spend whole day analyzing details of sculptures. Morning visits could be better if you like watching birds.

This chandramouleshwara temple of Arsikere is just little different from that of dharwad,Hubblli. Amazing piece of art,its perfectly sculptured. Dont know why not so popular among tourists attractions. Pillars, dome, ceilings everything is in perfect condition except the face of idols. Can offer prayer to lord Shiva whose idol is in main sanctorum. At walkable distance from Arsikere junction or hire an auto taxi. Zero ticket charge.

The earliest of all the Hoysala hindu temples, built by King Vishnuvardhana in 1114 C.E. (older than Belur's Chennakesava Temple by 3 years). This places is reachable via small detour on the way to Belur from Hassan.
The Laxmi Devi temple is in a small village which one can reach by taking a detour when going from Hassan to Belur. This is supposed to be one of the oldest Hoysala temples. The temple complex still retains its old perimeter wall and the entire complex is very well maintained by the ASI. The carvings on the walls whilst beautiful are a bit eroded due to the ravages of time. The entire temple complex with four main shrines gives one a feeling of peace and tranquility when visiting here.
