My husband and I hiked for about two hours here in Fall on a weekday. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed the more difficult trails. The trails were not busy at all, which was really nice.
There are signs everywhere that people need to have their dogs on leashes, but we encountered a number of people hiking with their dogs not on a leash.
I would definitely recommend coming here!

I'm spoiled. I know I am. There's no doubt. I'm used to quiet beaches with lots of space.
For people living in the area this beach is no doubt a gem. For me though, it has too many people, you can hardly move with all the arms and legs strewn about.
Parking required crossing a busy street of two way traffic including work trucks and semis.
If I had small children I would avoid this beach unless there was 1:1 supervision with another adult to manage the cooler.
As a person without kiddos I'd avoid the beach as it's too full of people and that's just not so much my thing.
If I had to drive to a beach, this one isn't it.

My wife and I walk this trail a couple times each week. It is located within walking distance from our house and is great for the exercise. You can go for miles!

This shrine sits atop a 1,350 foot tall hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Lovely church with great views. The best part is that it's free. One thing I didn't like was all the unwelcoming signs, like be silent and dress appropriately. Other than that, it's nice.

As a resident of Hartland I often visit this park during my (infrequent) walks during the good weather months. It's an EXCELLENT park for all folks from senior citizens to kiddies. Nice "splash" area for the little ones to get wet and enjoy in the summer. Swings and gymboree type climbing and exploring areas for the kids too. Bark River runs by it and there's a nice little pond where a kid can drown worms trying to catch a fish or two.

If you are a foodie you have got to visit Oliva Di Vita in Delafield. They offer fine olive oils, infused and plain and many varieties of vinegars for sale. The store is beautiful and the owners and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They will educate you on the value of adding olive oil to your daily diet. They even track the "polyphenal" levels of their oils and provide that for you if you are into taking olive oil daily as a nutritional supplement. If you are not doing this, they can explain why you might want to think about it!!! They offer cooking demonstrations, informational seminars and cooking and recipe tips and ideas. Their aged basalmic vinegar is fantastic by itself or in a vinegarette. Their truffle oil is heavenly. They carry an expresso basalmic vinegar that makes a killer marinade for grilled steak. I don't think you will walk out of this store empy handed. It is not just shopping. It is motivating and you will want to make something when you leave.

We've been here several times and enjoy the visits. Every time I manage to see something new. I have also purchases a couple pieces of art for my own yard. They are large, heavy, and expensive, so it's not really the kind of thing you do on impulse. To browse is free. There are hundreds of metal and concrete sculptures. Everywhere you look is something amazing, and often Paul (the Sculptor/artist) is on hand to show you what he's working on and make suggestions if you're in the market for yard art.

I went with my daughter's classroom for a farm field trip, but enjoyed the journey as if I were a kid again. The experience was informative and fun for all ages. There are animals, pumpkins, hayrides - the works - without being overcrowded or over-commercialized. I also bought a delicious jar of honey at a reasonable price. There are many benefits to gain and not one reason you shouldn't take time for a fun few hours of nostalgia and reality of how important farming is to our community and beyond, while having fun doing it!
