The charming Vietnamese capital has aged well, preserving the Old Quarter, monuments and colonial architecture, while making room for modern developments alongside. Hanoi may have shrugged off several former names, including Thang Long, or "ascending dragon," but it hasn't forgotten its past, as sites such as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and Hoa Lo Prison attest. Lakes, parks, shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of this city, which is easily explored by taxi.

Bat Trang Pottery Village is located in the south east of Hanoi, passing Chuong Duong Bridge turns right and go about 10km along the dike of Red River. Bat Trang belongs to Bat Trang Commune, Gia Lam District, Hanoi. The Bat Trang list of pottery getting high quality is longer more and more by day like bowl, dish, pot, cup, wine pot, a big flower-vase, leg lamp, lime-pot, big-bellied jar, pictures... It made by all sort of glazes as ancient pearl blaze, crackle glaze, dark glaze, indigo-blue flower glaze, grey flower glaze, melt glaze... So amazing! Otherwise, you’ll have chance to have look in ancient area (old house with making pottery – production and factory of ceramic), some temples and Red river (in front of temple).
Inclusions: Lunch., Motorbike with a high quality Helmet., Full Insurance Cover., Tour Guide, Fuel., Fees for making ceramic over there (learning to make ceramic by yourself)

My tour guide, Mary, is very resourful and friendly. She told me a lot about the culture and history of Hanoi which I wouldn’t otherwise have known. It’s my first time on a motorbike and her driving was excellent - there is nothing like experiencing the city on a bike. Oh, and love the Bahn Xeo and Egg Coffee! Will definitely recommend to everyone. Thanks again Mary, I had a great time!

I travelled to Hanoi alone and Momentlives kindly allowed me to go solo on a combined rice paper village and incense in one day. Mike replied all my emails promptly and gave his suggestions which are both professional and very helpful. Finally we decided to go to the rice paper village in the morning and the incense village in the afternoon. The incense village workers would be gathering the incense sticks in the afternoon and it would be just as good as morning. I was greeted on the day by a local guide and a driver. The local guide (sorry I forgot his name :p) spoke good English, kindly stopped and bought me breakfast because I forgot to pack a breakfast with me, and took me to the village. He is very passionate about photography. He showed me various interesting spots in the village where you can get really good shots, read the light and the scene, and being able to communicate with the locals, he spoke to the locals so they won't feel awkward having a foreigner sticking a camera in their faces or being in their premises, which is always a great help and something I could not achieve by going there on my own :p I was driven back to the hotel, had lunch on my own, and set off for the incense village in the afternoon. We got to this one incense village workshop where a number of workers were hard at work doing various tasks. My guide made the right decision of sticking to this workshop and waited - the golden hour came and it was beautiful. I would definitely recommend Momentlives to any photographers regardless of which level they are at.

Hanoi Old Quarter--When I ask myself about my favorite things in the city I’m living and working at, the over-1000-year-old capital of Vietnam, the first thing that came up in my mind was “Phố Cổ” – Hanoi old quarter . Not many places in Vietnam you can see such rapid, globalized development growth on a rich, conservative cultural background. And certainly, there are not many places in Vietnam that have people who come to find modern entertainments, to simply have a blast and people who come to enjoy the peacefulness and to reminisce the old memories. Hanoi Old Quarter can be so different at different times. Yet there is one thing for sure – the quarter has many things to offer, to everyone. So if you are seeking for a unique and thorough experience in Hanoi in general and in old quarter in particular, this article might be a window for you to understand the Hanoi life a little better.

we have booked cruise through Rubicon Tours with 2 days 1 night program. Rubicon Tours' staff are so friendly and they seem to be really knowledgeable about Halong Bay area and cruises in there also. So they recommended the cruise extremely fit in our favorite. The cruise is not only large, luxurious, beautiful design but also craftsmanship with private balcony, comfortable lounge chairs and a table... I definitely recommend this tour!

'Why this experience?' is the question many asked me. It's not the first, the only, definitely not the last thing I host, but I can do this all day! Each time I go, there are new things to learn about the village, the craft... Also, I'm lucky to have Mr. Hoang, a passionate and skillful village local who really knows how to introduce traditional pottery handmaking in short period of time for both beginners and guests more used to automatic tables. He's been doing this for more or less 10 years. The most interesting part is to watch fellow travelers (like you) enjoy learning about history, culture, people, and immerse in the craft. All the feelings; excitement, surprise, early frustration, patience, joy, relaxing... packed together. In the end, you bring home a piece or two made by yourself, great way to keep the memory long lasting!
Inclusions: Lunch, Air-conditioned vehicle, Manual spinning wheel, 1 Kiln-fired pottery piece made by you

Great unit for my trip. The beds are very comfortable and the open air setting is nice during the heat. The host, Son, was very attentive to our needs during the stay organizing airport transportation, giving great local recommendations, and ensuring that everything was functioning well. Would highly recommend.

We had a very nice private tour. And our guide was very kind, positive and cheerful. He came to our hotel to meet us. There was a van waiting for us with air conditioning, which was very much appreciated! The driver drove with care all the time. We saw first the beautiful Po Nagar Towers. Then we went to the Long Son Pagoda. We saw the big white Buddha. It was huge! We went later to see the Cathedral, but it was closed, so we couldn’t get inside. Finally we went to the embroidery workship atelier. They are really art pieces. I’d buy them all if I had the money. Finally we went to have lunch. It was a very complete course meal. We were so full! We loved this tour. It is so complete. We are very happy we booked it.
