Looking at some of the bad reviews, it seems like they're almost all people who wanted to see this place, but weren't able to. YES, it's small. And I guess they have limited hours. I went with a group, and the organizer called ahead and arranged for it to be open for us, and for a docent to give a talk. This little place is PACKED with a lot of history that you won't hear about at the regular stops. I believe it's only been open for 10 years, but they've put together a fantastic museum, with SO MANY stories about each and every item. A must see! Entry fee is by donation.

There's plenty to do at this park. There's a waling trail that will take you around part of the park. Unfortunately, a windstorm years ago damaged many of the trees and closed part of this area. There's great picnic spots and open ground to toss a football or play soccer. There are several shelter houses, and of course, a nice playground for young children. Take a small drive through the park and there are several look out spots to look at the Mississippi River. One of these spots has a gigantic Mark Twain statue. We enjoy exploring through the woods and using our imaginations to fight off creatures and dragons!

A lovely park, situated a few miles from Hannibal, the view of the Great River is magnificent!! Samuel Clemens' form overlooks the river. You can see highways, and woods. It is fall now and the colors are lovely in the forest. An off seas on time, so there were no crowds.

The area is so surrounded in the history of Mark Twain and his stories. The garden near the statue is quite pretty.

My husband and I came across Cave Hollow West Winery south of Hannibal on a recent visit to the area. Bailey made several suggestions for wine we might enjoy tasting. We enjoyed a glass of wine and came back the following day for a bottle of something else we had tasted to take back home. Bailey was very welcoming and answered our questions about the winery.
