Tradition collides with pop culture in Tokyo, where you can reverently wander ancient temples before rocking out at a karaoke bar. Wake up before the sun to catch the lively fish auction at the Tsukiji Market, then refresh with a walk beneath the cherry blossom trees that line the Sumida River. Spend some time in the beautiful East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, then brush up on your Japanese history at the Edo-Tokyo Museum. Don’t forget to eat as much sushi, udon noodles, and wagashi (Japanese sweets) as your belly can handle.

There was a line of people when I arrived but these were attended to as quickly as possible. This five(5) day trip was my first visit to Tokyo, and I relied completely on the advice and suggestions of the Consultants for places to visit and the most beneficial travel pass to use. The staff couldn't have been more helpful ensuring a variety of significant/interesting places to visit. These included the wonderful Railway Museum very close to Omiya Station, the Heritage listed Temples at Nikko and the great Buddha at Kamakura. Many thanks for all your help.
