Goebbert's Pumpkin Patch is the second of two pumpkin patches that are owned and operated by the Goebbert family. Each location has different activities, so if you decided to go to both each year, it wouldn't feel repetitive. Among some of the activities are pumpkin picking (while on the tractor-wagon ride), the pumpkin chunkin cannon, the corn maze, the garden gauge train ride through a haunted cowtown, paintball shooting gallery and children's play areas with things to climb on & climb through. There is also a store at this location. AND, Goebbert's apple cider donuts. Both this Goebbert's and the original are comparably priced.

The Illinois Railway Museum is the largest museum of its kind in America. Ride historic trains on the museum's five-mile demonstration railroad. See giant steam locomotives, powerful diesels and elegant electric cars on display and in operation. Enjoy educational displays, a train-themed playground for children, and immersive exhibits. Bring a picnic or dine at the Central Avenue Diner. The museum's collection includes such highlights as the "Nebraska Zephyr" streamliner, featured in the movie "A League of Their Own;" the 1941 "Electroliner" train which helped inspire Japan's famous Bullet trains; the last surviving "Green Hornet" streetcar from Chicago; and a 1918 steam locomotive originally built for export to Imperial Russia.
My husband and I spent an afternoon here. Lots of nostalgia. Liked the trains you could go through better than the ones you could only view from the outside, but still interesting. Good photo ops for families so bring your phone/camera.

October is our favorite time to visit Tom's because of all the autumn fest and Halloween activities and apple cider donuts, but we go all year round because of the fresh fruits and vegetables and plants. The homemade pies are fantastic (especially the caramel nut apple), the fudge is delicious (and they'll give you samples), there's a small cafe/bakery that offers great sandwiches and soups, and the plants are always hearty and do well on our garden. Tom's also has a delightful gift shop on the premises--unusual jewelry, soaps, hand lotions, stationery and baby gifts--we buy a lot of presents there. Tom's has been a favorite of our entire family for years. Helpful and friendly staff.

We went to Genoa downtown for lunch for the first time and saw this winery, decided to check it out. Iit did not disappoint. It is very welcoming and a customer came over to chat with us. A sales came over asking if we need help and recommend their wines. We left with four different bottles.

When I first saw the Gail Borden Public Library I was so impressed with the building. And the location near the Fox River adds to its beauty. The amenities offered by this library to the community are extensive. Of course you can check out books, but they also offer classes on how to use various types of computers, they offer educational programs and hold community meetings there. It is a resource of unlimited information. Elgin is so fortunate to have such an amazing library.

Joe Diamond is the Mystery Performer everyone is quietly talking about. Some call him a mind reader, others call him psychic, and still more call him a magician. You now have the chance to decide for yourself, up close and personal! Only 13 people will be admitted to his studio in the 'supposedly haunted' Dole Mansion in Crystal Lake for this unique experience. “If you don’t already worship at the feet of Joe Diamond, you should really get on board.” - Varla Ventura, author of “Beyond Bizarre” "Joe Diamond is the Devil" - WGN News "I am totally floored" - You & Me This Morning "That's impossible!" - The Today Show It doesn't matter if you are a believer or a skeptic, we predict you will have a good time!
Joe Diamond's show makes for a very fun, unusual night out. It's especially nice that it's for a smaller size audience, so everything happens close up; there's not a bad seat anywhere. It's obvious that Joe loves his work and loves entertaining; so much thought has gone into his performance, and it's great that he includes the audience as much as possible. We can't wait to return!

Located on Randall Rd., just north of Algonquin Rd., this AMC Lake in the Hills 12 is easy to find, easy to access and easy to park. They have newer amenities in the theatres, including the reclining chairs in the theatres which are really comfortable. If it is a boring movie, or a "chick flick", you should be out in minutes. They do have the Freestyle Coca Cola machines which are really great for a choice of drinks. Our advice is to join the "AMC Stubs" program as there are benefits, both immediate and that accrue.

Great food and great atmosphere. Staff was very accommodating to my large family. Nice place for burger and beer, but no craziness your kids can't see.

We had a blast with our 7 and 4 year old grandchildren. They loved having so many rides to choose from and we enjoyed the all rides included admission price. The park was immaculate and the rides are in pristine condition. Most rides are nostalgic and from other kiddie parks which makes it very nostalgic. My husband and I commented several times at how nice the park looked (lovely summer plantings, koy pond and all the buildings were freshly painted.
One of the many highlights of the day was getting to visit Santa Claus. He has his own beautifully decorated summer house and each family has a private visit with him. Santa was so sweet with our grandchildren.
Thank you to the owners of Santa Village for restoring this park and making it a magical place. I would say this might be the top kiddie amusement park in the U.S.
