Hamilton Mausoleum was one of the finest private tombs in the UK, and is now one of South Lanarkshire's most famous buildings. It was built as a tomb and monument to Alexander, 10th Duke of Hamilton, nicknamed 'El Magnifico', but was incomplete at the time of his death in 1852. The chapel has a massive dome, magnificent bronze doors, and a stunning floor made of marble from around the world. However, one of the first things you will probably notice is its amazing 15-second echo, one of the longest in the world!
Built to house the remains of the Dukes of Hamilton, this building is both a grandiose monument to Classicism and pride. The architecture is a beautiful example of classical Roman architecture. It’s a pity the guided tours inside are postponed.

The Town House re-opened as a multi purpose Arts Venue in 2004 and has facilities capable of hosting performances, weddings and social events, arts classes and courses, conferences and meetings as well as promoting varied arts and cultural events programme.
A dgnified and sensitive tribute to those whose lives were sacrificed for our freedom. Great to see the young folks of Lanarkshire involved in the show. I attended with a friend and my elderly mother. While I had booked tickets for the balcony, without hesitation the staff noted my mother using a walking stick and immediately offerred seats in the stalls area. Top marks to the staff for gouning the extra mile in providing excellent customer service

My first visit to this lovely venue was a memorable experience with a very festive setting over looking the Racecourse with adequate parking facilities for diners and visitors. The tables were beautifully set with vases of glittery tinsel balls and lights to enhance their shimmer. The waitresses and bar staff were most attentive to our every wish and our delicious 3 course meal was served promptly between courses and enjoyed by all in attendance. For the less able their is a lift to assist diners to the upper function suits. A lovely afternoon out to the start of our Festive Season. ???????? Well done to the catering staff for preparing such sumptuous food, well worth the visit. Mrs Jean Miller
