A Smithsonian Affiliated Museum, that uses innovative ways to present History, Nature, Art, and Science.
This is a unique museum where children and adults are able to experience how life was in the 1800s. Children saw the farm animals, rode a hot air balloon to see the beautiful landscape around, ate huge candied apples, saw carpenters at work, and were surrounded by staff dressed and reenacting how American life and life of Lenape Indians were in the past. Every building was modeled under a different tradesperson such as baker carpenter metalworker farmer school teacher etc. Conner Prairie is unique in which even the employees were dressed in costumes and had numerous interactive activities for our children. Most importantly was the Apple Store where we purchased the most delicious apple products. My children loved their cider slushies and airport staff screened our giant candied apples twice. Glad they didn't try to confiscate it for their own consumption. Yes it is astonishingly huge and they looked and tasted delicious! No textbook can ever replace this experience. My children was learning about history and having a wonderful time.

The Center for the Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization responsible for the operation and programming of a multidisciplinary performing arts campus in Carmel, Indiana. The facilities include the Palladium, a state-of-the-art 1,600-seat concert hall; the Tarkington, a 500-seat proscenium theater; and the Studio Theater, a versatile black box with a seated capacity of 200. The Center presents scores of events each year and provides space and support services for six resident companies: Actors Theatre of Indiana, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Central Indiana Dance Ensemble, Civic Theatre, Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre, and Indiana Wind Symphony.
When the Palladium first opened, we worried that it would cannibalize the ISO, which is so important to Indy. Definitely not the case! The Palladium is an absolutely wonderful property and a fantastic addition to our arts offerings in the greater Indianapolis community. Then location itself is prime, the facility is GORGEOUS, the bookings are top-rate and varied, and my husband and I enjoy the creative options for types of season ticket purchases made available. We enjoy it so much!

The work of real artists, not the typical array of candles and napkins found in many small gift stores . Some exceptional jewelry and wall hangings. A great place to go if you are looking for pieces to decorate your new apartment or home. Very pleasant staff.

We went to the nature center and walked through the handmade shelters. We then went for a hike on the 2.3 mile loop. It goes along White River and through the woods. Very flat and easy walk.
