Limehouse Conservation Area

Reviewed By Timtravelreviews - Dorchester, Canada

Limehouse is a near perfect conservation area that offers a number of short trails, POI, photo ops and a park. Parking is free and the trailhead is clear and welcoming. The trails are short enough for a hike with young children or a quick visit if you're short on time. However, there are some major issues that need to be mentioned. First, the trails are not well marked. The colour codes are not consistent, for example; The Bruce trail is Red on the map, but the blazes are White. The Yellow trail is the Blue trail. It's horribly marked and needs a simple upgrade. Secondly, there is so much dog crap on the trail it's revolting. Literally, smack dab in the middle of the trail people let their dogs crap. I don't know why people do this. You will usually find poop bags left trail side or even flung into the tree tops. I hope these people never return. Lastly, there is so much litter everywhere you look. It's too bad, because it would be a perfect park if not for the irresponsible dog owners or the losers leaving their garbage. If you go, please pick up a piece of garbage on your way out. Keep the green space clean and leave your dog at home.

Fallbrook Trail Ranch

Come horseback riding on our wooded trails, take lessons with our trained and experienced staff or simply enjoy the grounds and have a picnic. We have Kid's Camps every summer with PD Day Camp throughout the year. Have your company party or family gathering with us and enjoy food prepared and served from our kitchen in this rustic ranch setting. See you on the trail

I go to Fallbrook Ranch every year for a trail ride and it’s been great each time. If you’re looking to try something new, get outside, go on a date, or just relax in nature - it’s definitely worth checking out. The staff is also very friendly and helpful especially if it’s your first time. The beginner rides require no skill at all, you just get on and the horses basically follow each other.

Terra Cotta Conservation Area

The Terra Cotta Conservation Area offers several scenic trails surrounding a few smaller lakes and ponds. With the trails being relatively short, you can get through several in a day. This park is perfect for all types of visits, providing a peaceful escape into nature. Even though our visit was in the summer, I imagine there will be beautiful colours during the autumn. I recommend a visit for anyone seeking an easier, simple hiking experience.

Chudleigh's Entertainment Farm

Chudleigh’s was established in 1957, and since then, we’ve been all about promoting farming to the mainstream. Over the years, our farm has evolved beyond “pick your own fruit” to include a fantastic children’s entertainment area, a retail store, a fully licensed restaurant and many exciting events. Three generations later, we continue this tradition, entertaining thousands of guests each year. We are open from July 1 - Oct 31 2020.

Last year (2019) my wife and I visited Chudleighs and we completely forgot to write a review, which we had intended on doing considering we had an incredible experience. Sure enough, we visited again today and nothing has changed. We had yet another incredible experience. The atmosphere, food, petting zoo, apple orchards and trail in the forest are nothing but magical. The cherry on top... is the staff! They truly care about the customers’ experience. There were two staff members that stood out back to back years and really made our experience a 10/10... Paul (in the petting zoo section) and Alicia (from the entertainment/food section). Paul went above and beyond and gave us a VIP experience as funny as that may sound. He took us around and shared the names and personalities of all the animals in the farm and blew our minds with his knowledge and compassion for them all. We are animal lovers ourselves and really appreciated the time and love he puts into this. He is one of a kind and Chudleighs is truly lucky to have someone like him representing the establishment. Definitely keeps us coming back. Now for Alicia... what an amazing person. Her worth ethic, care for protecting people from COVID-19 and love for her job is unlike any other. She made us feel welcome and made us not want to leave. Again, Chudleighs is lucky to have her and perhaps this shows on a larger level how amazing this place really is. I strongly recommend this establishment to all who are looking to connect with nature, people, music and food! We will be back!

Took my grandbabies to get pumpkins and had a great time. They loved being able to run around outside. Picked out their pumpkins ,climbed the hay mountain, went through the haunted forest. Laughed and played. Very relaxed atmosphere for their fall adventure. Went home happy and tired with a bottle of their lovely wine. It was a great day
