We rented a car from halifax and drove to Peggy's Cove. took about 40 mins. This gave us the flexibility to be there between tour buses which gave us great photo opportunities without many tourists! The restaurant at the lighthouse is fabulous. Great lobster, chowder, gingerbread, apple cider (hard or not).

After lining up while maintaining social distancing to board the 'paddle wheel' to the Island, we get a great view of the city's waterfront before disembarking on the Island. The provided brochure describes the various points of interest on the Island, from the Submarine Mining Establishment through Fort Charlotte and the Lighthouse. The highlight though is the tour of the tunnels under Fort Charlotte. Because of COVID, the tour is guided with a limited number of participants, so one gets to easily hear all of the tour guide's commentary. The Parks Canada interpreters/reservists were all helpful in answering questions to the best of their ability. And one gets great and different views of both the Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts.
