Owl's Head Provincial Park is a hidden gem, that begs to be explored. There's a freshwater lake surrounded by over 600 acres of the most incredible landscape! Long stone ridge like you've never seen before, a sand beach tucked away from the busy world, and a precious sea view. There once was a lighthouse with its own lightkeeper here, and there's still a beacon that guards the entrance to Owl's Head harbour. The drive out here on its own was amazing. Bring good shoes and enjoy this special bit of nature. You won't forget it!

I've done this hiking trail countless times in all seasons. You can hike as long or as short as you'd like. Beautiful views of lakes and trees.

One of the best places to take in Nova Scotia's rugged coastal beauty. An amazing place to watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean (leave time to get back before dark). A short drive from Halifax, in one of the most scenic areas of the province.

Adjacent to Peggy's Cove (Nova Scotia's most iconic tourist attraction). Polly's cove offers similar views as Peggy's Cove, without the crowds. Full of expansive coastal views, including Peggy's Cove in the distance.
Really nice walk / hike. We had a bit of trouble finding it. Trail begins at 7216 Prospect road between Peggy's Cove and West Dover. Park off the road at the pull out. As you proceed out the the point(s) there are many sub- trails. Try to stay on the rocks and ENJOY ! We spent about 1/2 hour but you could spend much more time exploring especially on a beautiful day.

The Salt Marsh Trail is absolutely one of our favourites in the Cole Harbour/Lawrencetown region of Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore. The trail is a former railway line, now converted to a level, fine gravel trail which is part of the rails to trails system. We started at Lot 2 near Bissett Road (get there early because the parking lots fill up quickly)! It’s a wonderful trail that starts off in the forest and then opens up onto beautiful vistas of Cow Bay on either side. It's equally enjoyed by cycling and walking enthusiasts. The trail stretches from Bissett Road to the Atlantic View Trail but we decided to walk only the waterview portion which is approximately 5 km each way. If you are looking for an enjoyable and scenic walk with vistas of islands, marsh, rock-strewn waters and tree-lined coastline – this is one to try! Just bring sunscreen on a sunny day!
