I was here over the Christmas period, it was beautifully decorated, lovely Christmas market and the station itself has a ton of shops and eating options. The place was alive and hopping on Friday, Saturday night until 10 PM or maybe even alittle after. Locals, tourists, everyone was there. If I could attach videos to this I would. You'll have to settle for pictures. I'd actually like to see if they have festivals in summer and stuff.

If you are planning a trip to another major city in Kyushu, I recommend considering the buses that leave this terminal. The are often as fast as the trains (except the shinkansen) and are much cheaper and frequent. Buses also leave the terminal for many points in Fukuoka. The upper floors of the terminal also house a McDonald's and a Daiso 100 Yen store as well as other shops and restaurants. Visited 28 March 2020.

If you love ramen and are in the area, you have no excuse not to go. Great variety of types of broth, toppings, and side dishes. I had a hard time choosing which restaurant to eat at, but my meal was perfect. They have menus in a variety of languages for those who don't know Japanese. Conveniently located in the Canal City mall, so you can take your time here.
