We have been to Cedars before but we didn’t Have enough to see the studio we had a freind come over from Sydney so thought this was a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. This place is amazing to see where Hans Heysen painted his pictures and the trees are mostly all still standing is just amazing and to have a fabulous artist so close to our city is also amazing. I’m so glad it is all been presented so well as he would have left it as well. Would highly recommended doing all the walk then the gallery.

Beerenberg Farm is a "must visit" for all food lovers visiting the Adelaide Hills. One of Australia's oldest family-owned jam, condiment and sauce producers, it is now run by the sixth generation of the Paech family on their Hahndorf farm. Open all year round, 7 days a week (except Christmas Day), the farm shop is open 9am to 5pm. Enjoy a leisurely browse through the complete collection of farm-made products in the delightful farm shop. During strawberry season (November to April), bring the family and pick your own strawberries from 9am to last field entry at 4.15pm. Patch entry is $5.00 per adult (13 years and under are free). Strawberries you pick are then weighed and are $10.95/kg.
We visted the farm on a beautiful morning not long after opening and was already getting busy. We had some great family time picking in the strawberry patch and filled a few tubs. They taste so sweet and fresh. The visitors shop is full of good things. The only thing we think that is missing is a cafe. Imagine being able to sit and have scones, strawberry jam and cream with a coffee or tea, i think this would be very popular and was something we thought would be there. Loved our visit.

Six of us, including SA locals, interstate and overseas friends visited The Cedars where we took a self guided tour of the Han's Heysen Studio, a walk on the property (Artists Walk) and down to the green pool, followed by joining the guided tour of the House and self guided tour of the Nora Heysen Studio. We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the volunteer staff and guides were helpful and informative. One of our overseas guests even commented that she enjoyed it as much as visiting Monet's House and Garden in Giverny! The garden surrounding the house was lovely with many old fashioned plants and flowers and lawned areas, and the Artist's Walk took in magnificent gum trees on the bushland property.

Rob was employed by Max Schubert, father of Grange, at Penfolds back in 1969. Now Rob’s running the most elegant, surprising and creative wine secret in the Adelaide Hills with his own family, Heather, Lucy and Emma. It’s not quite like anything else. Part cellar door and part wine bar, Somerled opens til 7:30pm every night. Front and centre of their website sits their weekly blog. Have a look now! Rob’s elegant and clean sparklings and whites contrast superbly with his mature and complex aged reds. According to The Advertiser, Somerled shirazes are ‘as close to Grange as you’ll ever get’. Lucy has recently re-introduced Wine Tasting Flights at their long marble bar, or try wines by the half glass or glass. Nibbles are abundant: try the warm cheese puffs, French toasties, warm anchovy sticks and their signature Spanish platters!
Great wines here, family business and wines, in the loveliest setting. Cellar door tastings, fireplace, nice noshy dishes if you're needing some food. Best of all is the personable service!!!

Relax on our viewpoint balcony overlooking the vines and soak up the views, while enjoying a wine flight and cheese plate, or our ChocoVino chocolate and wine matching experience. Open Monday to Saturday (closed on Sunday and Public Holidays).
A great afternoon sharing a platter of local produce whilst enjoying a superb wine tasting, so hard to choose which wines to purchase from the wide range.

Let our volunteer team assist you with brochures, maps and information on Hahndorf, the surrounding region and further afield. Find out about stories and information not online, use our free public access computer or free Wi-Fi. We can also book local accommodation, tours, SeaLink product offerings and National Park entry and camping. We have a small amount of merchandise for sale, some of which is exclusively made for you. We are located in the middle of the main street in the historic Hahndorf Academy building which we share with the museum, gallery and shop. We look forward to assisting you on your next visit to Hahndorf.
We popped in and were warmly greeted by one of 2 staff. She gave us a copy of the town map which included the heritage walk. Off to one side is a lovely gallery/ gift shop which then leads to the excellent museum detailing the early settlement years of Hahndorf and how it came to be named after a sea captain called Hahn who brought settlers over from Hamburg on a ship called the Zebra. One of the best and enjoyable small museums (and free) we've been to in a while. If you like baking biscuits, see the attached photo.

Located on the main road as you enter Hahndorf, your experience begins with a walk through our Distillery Garden planted with some of the botanicals used in the production of Gin. Our Distillery and Tasting Bar has indoor and outdoor space for you to try our beautiful Award winning Gins. The building is surrounded by rural landscape and inside is fitted out with polished concrete floors, natural timber and reclaimed red brick walls with windows that open up to the surrounding rural views. The copper Still is on display and you might get to meet a Distiller. Our staff take you through a Gin Tasting Flight and answer questions you have about distilling. You can indulge in a G&T, one of our cocktails or a Share Plate featuring local products like cheeses and meats from the menu. We also offer beer, soft drinks and a few other options. Drop in for a visit, or book into our ‘Meet the Distillers’ or ‘Gin Blending Masterclass’. Group bookings are essential.
Thought we would check the distillery out while we were visiting Hahndorf. Great little spot and location with a wide selection of different gin concoctions to choose from (I just got the flight of three because I wanted to try them all and my partner tried the new-old-fashioned) ! We can definitely recommend to come visit and perhaps next time we will have to either stay up in Hahndorf or find a non-drinker to drive us!

Two ‘grown ups’ and loads of animals to pet, play with, feed and relax. Great fun for all ages and, being an oldie of 50, loved feeding the lambs and being jumped on for food by the goats. Why not sit and relax with the guinea pigs or feed a roo?
