So fun. We learned all types of tips and tricks... even cooked Bernaise sauce. We enjoyed the group we got to know ( 12 people per class) and the dinner even more. Book a class in advance so you can pick the meal you cook. We stayed across the street at the Alluvian hotel which should be a five star. Great time overall

When in Greenwood, we always visit this well-stocked book store. Many of their books are signed by the author. The atmosphere is so nice and conducive to book shopping. We always end up buying a book when we stop in. They have nice gifts.

They also have a unique array of decorative items for the home - from wreaths to ornamental wall hangings.

Besides a permanent exhibition on the home of the last Choctaw chief, there is a wonderful exhibit of early Indian pottery and trade beads. The museum also hosts traveling exhibits from time to time. Recent remodeling has enhanced the museum's appearance. It is listed as one of the ten best visitor sites in the Mississippi Delta.

Wineries in Mississippi are a difficult find. However, the Winery at Williams Landing is an enjoyable stop when passing through or near Greenwood. It is located in a beautifully restored historic building downtown. I appreciate it when small business owners do their best to help wonderful old downtowns revive and thrive. No trouble parking in this downtown and you are welcomed by the owners when entering.

Be prepared not only to learn about the wines they produce, but also about the history of Greenwood and about blues music. It is obvious they are proud of their heritage. Their wines are pretty darn good also.

Many people used to European-styled wines might not really like muscadine grape wines, but if you are adventurous and not a “wine snob” then give them a try. The fruit based wines are also nice. I can think of plenty of southern cookin’ that would go quite well with these wines.

SO much legend and mystery around this man's life and death. He might be buried here... or according to what the locals say and what you can read online, he might be buried elsewhere. It's a really cool spot though, a bit spooky and certainly historic. Be part of the legend and check it out.

I wanted to try painting although I was intimidated because of my lack of talents. But in a nutshell, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the instructor, Judy, was not only comical and entertaining, but easy to follow and super helpful. And ultimately, I walked out with a great piece of art that I did myself -- and I don't even paint! LOVED IT!!! It's a must do if you are in Greenwood!

Delta Blues Legend Tour

Reviewed By MD3002 - Baltimore, MD

Sylvester Hoover gives a fantastic tour of the Robert Johnson and other historical sites in the Greenwood area. Having lived in the Delta nearly his whole life, Sylvester paints a complete picture of life in the Delta over the past half-century and brings the legend of Robert Johnson to life. Beginning in Baptist Town, where Robert Johnson lived just before his death, and traveling to the three claimed burial sites, the tour gives its guests the full story of his final days. Also included, is a visit to Bryant Grocery Store and the store of Emmett Till's brutal death in 1955. We had considered using a map and doing a self-guided tour, and we're so glad we booked the tour. Sylvester Hoover is a great story-teller, and the three and a half hours flew by. Blues fans should not miss this.
