July 3, 2021 Nicolette Lion

Green Bay, Wisconsin, is home to the Cheeseheads, fans of the Green Bay Packers, a NFL team so successful that Green Bay has nicknamed itself "Titletown, USA." There is more to Green Bay than just exciting football and delicious dairy products, however. There are beautifully manicured rows of flowers at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, and hiking paths and a natural history museum at the Cofrin Center for Biodiversity. Visit the historic collection of train cars at the National Railroad Museum.

Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame

Reviewed By danielrk2015 - Prairie du Sac, United States

Even my wife and daughter enjoyed the Hall of Fame and stadium visit! The HOF is located right next to Lambeau Field and is a really high quality interactive display of Green Bay Packers history, and there's a lot of it over the past 100 years. I wanted to stay longer than the 90 minutes allowed, but there are some COVID restrictions in place to keep everyone safe. Each HOF Packer player has a display and video of his highlights. All the championship trophies are kept here. The top games and seasons are highlighted and there's a 15 minute video giving a survey of the Green Bay Packer NFL franchise and how it became owned by the fans rather than a billionaire.

I visited with a friend who is very into his trains. Even though I'm not, it was interesting to see the sheer scale and size of some of the engines, and to read up on the history. The museum is well laid out, with lots of engines on display. Clean facilities and friendly staff, with a nice gift shop in case you want a memento of you're visit.

Captain's Walk Winery

A venue for vinifera, the Captain's Walk Winery offers premium grape wine tasting in a light-hearted manner. Partake in a laid back experience that usurps the snobbery out of wine while enjoying a unique tasting education. This pre-civil war house has been updated carefully to recapture 150 years of character. Plaster crown molding, the original fireplace and hardwood floors complement openings that offer viewing of the production room and cellars.

Wonderful wines! The Captain's Walk Lodi Bourbon Barrel Zinfandel is amazing! A must along with the 2017 Sangiovese. Two terrific reds that are a must when visiting! In a few years I think the 2017 Sangiovese will match up to the best wine I think they have ever made, the 2009 Sangiovese. The Cab Melboc is another wonderful red. Enjoy this is one of our favorite wineries. A must stop when in Greenbay!
