La Quinta-Norman Course

A challenging 18-hole golf course with breathtaking views.

Reviewed By T4232XIjohnb - Toronto, Canada

I've now played the PGA West Norman course several times and it is a ton of fun to play. The fairways are generous, most of the houses are tucked well back so it feels very natural and it has a real desert feel to it. The greens were in great shape and rolling fast and the pace of play was decent - 4:15 for the round. You can get discounted greens fees online so be sure to poke around for a deal.

Marriott's Shadow Ridge Golf Club

Located in the Coachella Valley, Shadow Ridge Golf Club enjoys over 350 days of sunshine and blue skies every year. This beautiful and peaceful valley is often referred to as the "golf capital of the world" because of its ideal playing conditions and abundance of courses.

We love this beautiful golf course. It’s well-maintained with thick turf and forgiving wide fairways. The masked staff is courteous and helpful. There is covered parking close-by to help shield your car from the baking hot sun. Water hazard is a challenge at several holes, e.g. 5, 9, 13 and 18. The more prominent features are the prevalent sand traps, many quite deep, flanking the greens and along the way. This is a great place to practice getting out of bunker shots, for inevitably you will end up in one (because of COVID, raking after is not necessary). Speaking of bunkers we enjoyed the breakfast wraps served at the aptly-named Bunkers. We will definitely be back.

Indian Wells celebrity and players courses are two gems we found while golfing for seven days in Palm Springs/Palm Desert.. First, we played both of these in the afternoon, in April and the weather was perfect. Staff, at every encounter were positive and professional. The courses present a challenge but with five sets of tee boxes, if you pick the right one for your skills, this will not disappoint. These courses present awesome challenges with some long par 3s, including some over water. The landscaping and views on the course add tremendously to the experience. To me, you should NOT miss playing one or both of these courses... they are great value, terrific views and in top conditions. After your round, stop by the Vue restaurant... it's not just a 19th hole, its a destination restaurant.

Coral Mountain Golf Club

Set at the base of the majestic Santa Rosa Mountains of La Quinta, California, this 18-hole championship Southern California golf course is a Gary Panks design that ensures challenge and reward for players of all skill levels. The Golf Club at La Quinta opened for play in 2002 and has been tested and tried by professional golf players including Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Fred Couples, Adam Scott, Annika Sorenstam and Mark O’Meara, as the home of the 2003, 2004, 2005, and the 2006 PGA Tour SKINS GAME events. Several sets of tee boxes, including the Skins tees that play at nearly 7,200 yards, provide a length that is just right for your golf game. Dramatic water features and sand perils complement the golf course fairways, leading to the rolling greens. The natural California desert landscape of the surrounding Coachella Valley creates a boundary of play both beautiful and daunting. Check out our new SPRING rates effective April 15th! Operating hours: 6:30 am - 4pm daily.
