I’ve been going to Bella Sante in Lexington for years and enjoyed every experience, but the game changer was the day I was scheduled for a massage with Alvaro Sena Rosa. The gods must have been smiling upon me that day! In addition to being an incredibly skilled massage therapist, Alvaro is invested in his clients’ well-being. He knows I need the head rest tilted up so I don’t get stuffy, he knows the pressure I can tolerate, he even remembers what we talked about at our last visit! He will focus on pain points, but at the same time makes the experience so relaxing that I’m often a pile of mush by the finish. I just don’t want the massage to end and I often tease about hiding the little bell he rings when the treatment is over. I’ve been seeing Alvaro regularly for a couple of years now and this is the first time I’ve written a reivew - confession: I wanted to keep him for myself. But, I’m done being selfish - the world should know how amazing Alvaro is! P.S. Try the Himalayan Salt Ritual - the salt rocks take the massage to a whole other level! Their slight roughness feels great on the skin and apparently also provide mineral health benefits too! P.S.S. Bella Sante has done a great job instituting Covid regulations. I’ve been leaving my house only when absolutely necessary, so it took a real leap of faith for me to get a massage during a pandemic. I returned when they opened in August 2020 and feel very safe there. Thank goodness, because my back was killing me!

Western Avenue | Studios & Lofts is the creative home to over 300 artists who work in all disciplines. You will find fine artists, photographers, ceramic artists, fiber artists, wood workers, jewelers, sculptors, glass artists, painters, mixed media artists. You'll find print makers, book binders, letter press and paper artists, a glass blower and clothing designers. You'll find many starting out in their artistic careers, and others with gallery representation. Over two dozen artists teach classes in their chosen medium. Western Avenue hosts Open Studios the first Saturday of each month and additional holiday open studio dates. The coop gallery, The Loading Dock Gallery, is open Wednesday thru Sunday. Navigation Brewing is on site and is open Thursday through Sunday. Western Avenue - welcome to a world of art.
"First Saturdays" are when WAS really shines. The Loading Dock Gallery is worth a shop any day of the week, but when you add five floors across each of three major art studio wings, and hundreds of artists of every medium imaginable, you can spend hours here and never get to it all. Fabric arts. Photography. Painting. Sculpture. Metalwork. Jewelers. A craft brewery in the basement. Food trucks outside. Artists who will talk to you for as long as you want about what they do. Ceramics. Glass. Stuff you can't even describe. It's all here. I've commissioned one-of-a-kind heirloom Chistmas presents for family three years running, and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface. Can't say enough good things. Get there!!!

O'Neil Cinemas movie theater complex and Backstage Lounge restaurant/bar is located at The Point in Littleton, MA.
Love O’Neil cinema in Littleton. The theater is new, and very clean. Bathrooms, lobby, hallways, theaters are all spotless. The seal on the deal is they have a restaurant and a bar that serves good food and great drinks. The best is when you go to the theater you can bring your drinks and or food. If you’re running close to movie time they’ll deliver the food to your seat. As if that wasn’t enough, every seat in every theater is a recliner. They’re leather with a small table and cup holder. Talk about a perfect combo, recliner, beer, movie. Better than home, because there’s popcorn too. Love O’Neil, go there often for movies. We’ll be back, often.

This route follows the trail taken by the British on their retreat to Boston after the battle of Lexington and Concord.
Drive, park and walk this beautiful road toward Concord and relive the moments leading up to the Revolutionary War. Many of the fields and homes are today what they were in 1775. With the changing of the trees, even more beautiful than one can imagine. History breathes and lives here for everyone of every age to experience. Take your time and enjoy!

This minimalist masterpiece was built by the founder of the Bauhaus movement. Walter Gropius, founder of the German design school known as the Bauhaus, was one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. Modest in scale, the 1938 Gropius home was revolutionary in impact. It combined the traditional elements of New England architecture -- wood, brick, and fieldstone -- with innovative materials rarely used in domestic settings at that time -- glass block, acoustical plaster, and chrome banisters, along with the latest technology in fixtures. In keeping with Bauhaus philosophy, every aspect of the house and its surrounding landscape was planned for maximum efficiency and simplicity of design. The house contains an important collection of furniture designed by Marcel Breuer made in the Bauhaus workshops. With all the family possessions still in place, the house has an immediacy rarely found in house museums.
If you have an interest in the stars of "modern" architecture, put this house on the top of your list. When it was built, it was situated on a hill, in an apple orchard with a glimpse of Walden Pond in the distance. Gropius transplanted small tree specimens for shade and variety, and added an Asian garden off the patio. The original landscape trees are enormous; the pond is no longer visible, but the house orientation is still significant for attention to the window orientation, for solar gain. Industrial materials were adapted for residential construction, and the interior furnishings are mostly built-in. There is also a superb collection of original furniture designed by Gropius contemporaries.

The more than 900 acres of this national park run along the route of the battle of Lexington and Concord.
I would recommend starting your tour of the Minute Man National Historical park with a stop by the visitor center and watching their great multimedia presentation. They use a variety of methods to explain the Battles of Lexington and Concord. I have been to several national historical parks and this was, by far, the best multimedia presentation i have seen, both entertaining and educational. Make sure to go to the North Bridge visitors center as well,

In order to preserve the natural environment, visitors are limited at this site, where Thoreau wrote his famous essays.
My wife and I went to the Walden Pond State Reservation on my birthday as I had studied Thoreau in High School, consider myself a naturalist, and approve of his non-violent Civil Disobedience. Everything that we found there, the setting, the pond, the original foundation of his 10 x 15 cabin, the re-constructed cabin with a re-enactor, the LEADS GOLD museum, the film, and the gift shop to be first class and an excellent reflection of Thoreau. In the Gift Shop, I bought one of the many different versions of Walden Pond and an excellent biography, "Henry David Thoreau A Life" by Laura Walls, published during the 200th anniversary of Thoreau's birth, 2017. You can catch her lecture about her book on youtube.
