Sam Merrifield Library

Sam Merriefield has more space after the epidemic. The Community Lounge idea seems to have taken off, it's a new direction for the library. The meeting rooms are still available, book early if you want to usse them. By the way, there is free wifi, it's very popular. Parking is not usually a problem, especially on weekends and after hours.

This is a historic building ( old Courthouse house) and they have and excellent display from the ashes. The staff were very informative, interesting and knowledgeable. Well worth a trip. The toilets here have got to be the cleanest I have ever seen anywhere.

Ringwood Library

Reviewed By petermY2777LY - Melbourne, Australia

This was opened on October 29 2015 with a refurbishment of Eastland. The previous libary was puled down. It has a cafeteria and Maroondah City Council offices on the ground floor and library on the first floor. On the second floor are workshops and maybe after corona is finished a walk way to the new Maroondah Council offices. Half the computers are closed due to corona but their is still usually plenty. The library is not closed between 1-00Pm and 2-00Pm now for cleaning and there is no one there to make sure you sign in as before you needed to be signed in if no mobile. The first library in Warrandyte Road is now Vic Roads offices

This library has the best of views in my opinion and the perfect place to sit & read the current issue of one of several magazines or a book while overlooking the parkland and lake. Access to parking from either Jells or Ferntree Gully Roads.

Preston Library is in Gower St, just off High St,.near the Town Hall. The LIbrary has a wide range of newspapers, including foreign language newspapers. The library also has computers for public use. The monograph copllection is quite extensive (that is, it has lots of books). The Library has a meeting room which can be hired. By the way, it is quite easy to join the library if you have a local connection.Preston Library is a good library for quiet reading and is also useful for research.

Hobsons Bay Visitor Information Centre

Reviewed By 999Edwina - Warlingham, United Kingdom

Centrally located near Gem Pier staff are extremely helpful with lots of information to take away eg map, routes for suggested walks. We joined the free walking tour and the lady guide, dressed for the part was outstanding. Knowledgeable, interesting with keys to give access to the old mortuary and the base of the Timeball Tower. Wonderful!
