Beautiful surroundings calm. Worth the visit for a walk around. There are walks for different abilities. There is toilet facilities benches for picnics. Wrap up warm on colder or windy days . Be prepared it does get busy for the parking so need to be there reasonably early.

First time visit and was really impressed. The tar path all the way around the reservoir was clean & tidy. The views across the water were lovely and the sun was shining - a bonus.

Excellent cycling path on the Rochdale canal. Starting at the National Cycling centre (Etiahd Campus) you can either go north towards Rochdale or South towards Ashton/Bredbury. Having elected to head south on a sunny day the cycle path was excellent. Decent paths all along well lit and taking in some great views of locks, meadow, fields, hills and boats. Mostly very flat with the odd incline on every lock it is a great place to start off cycling as a beginner. Cycled 12 miles to Bredbury and back again in under 3 hrs was well worth the effort.

Walked around the area, visited the mall. My goal was to see the Lawry art exhibit which was excellent. Had a spot of tea. Lots to do-You can take tours of the tv shows sets. Walk over to the museum. See a play.

I visited the park yesterday very impressed but more impressed with quality and service of the cafe , due to the new covid restriction it will only be a take away service but there were plenty of seating areas outside . What more could you ask for a bacon balm and hot chocolate after brisk walk
