Cathedral of the Isles

Reviewed By tomrB9994XI - Glasgow, United Kingdom

We get together with our extended family every few years, and we do that on Millport. We book rooms at the Cathedral, and have a buffet dinner on the Saturday night, taking over the library and the common room. The rooms are comfortable, and the food is always very good. The staff are attentive, and worked hard to make sure that all food preferences (small children, pescetarians, vegetarians, bacon-lovers) were met - which they were, deliciously. Porage as an option, along with cereals, full cooked breakfast buffet and toast with local jams. A great place to stay

Mapes Of Millport

MAPES IS THE BEST NAME FOR BIKE HIRE IN MILLPORT ...so why not make us your first stop on the Island! We are right in the centre of town, opposite the Crazy Golf and the flagpole, so it is easy to find us. We are open seven days a week.

We hired a tandem for a cycle around the island to much amusement and warnings about making or breaking a marriage!!! It was just so much fun and the staff at Mapes couldn't have been more helpful, giving us tips on how to get going, adjusting the bike and advising us on which way round the island we should go. I highly recommend this for a fun day out, nearly all flat around the island so easy cycling for everyone and a great selection of bikes to choose from for all ages and abilities.

Robertson Museum and Aquarium

Reviewed By banskoman - Marlow, United Kingdom

Visited as part of a nostalgia trip to the island. The original site has been carefully updated with a small display of the history of its key players and their role in developing marine biology as a science. The live displays are well kept and interesting in their own way with a good balance between adult and child-friendly information. Excellent (and v cheap).
