On the upper floor of our Historic Factory located in the centre of Grasse, our perfumery museum presents a magnificent private collection of flasks, gift sets, alembic stills, raw materials and other equipment that tell the story of the perfumery from High Antiquity to the present day.

Visits to this historic factory thread their way through the perfumer’s laboratory, with its perfume organ, the distillery, the maceration and filtering studios, the enfleurage rooms, and the artisanal packaging and soapmaking workshops. The museum's collection features bottles and perfume memorabilia from ancient times and all the way up to the present day. Clay perfume flasks, khol vases, scent holders, salve jars, pomanders, bergamotes, and travel kits trace 3,000 years of history.

Jean de Galimard, Lord of Seranon and related to the Count of Thorenc, lived in Grasse where in 1747 he created the PARFUMERIE GALIMARD. Founder of the corporation of "Glovemakers and Perfumers", he supplied the court of Louis "the well-beloved", King of France, with olive oils, pomades and perfumes, of which he invented the first formulas. Two and a half centuries after its inception by its illustrious founder, continuing its Royal tradition from 1747, the Parfumerie Galimard remains a family owned and operated entreprise. Galimard's contemporary management style allows its creative branch to breathe life and love into its newest perfume masterpeices.
