Polkapojkarna has over 30 different flavours of candy sticks, old fashioned toffee, chocolate and lots of other sweets. Visit the boutique and bakery where you can take a look at the production and have a chat with the baker men while they're making the polkagrisar by hand. Try some fresh, warm, dough and get a guidance in the Polkagris history for free, and ofcourse shop some candy.
We chose this stop based on TA reviews and we're glad we did. The shop is very quaint and you can watch them make the peppermint stick in the back room. We may have shopped a little too much :) but there were so many flavors and candies to choose from we couldn't help ourselves. A very fun stop in Gränna.

Andrée's Arctic balloon expedition, in1897 was the attempt to reach the North Pole. Three men in a silk balloon! (YES, it was made of three layers of silken cloth, which you cannot see at the museum). To me it sounds like a suicide attempt. But I have read one (!) book about the expedition, and of course they were serious. It is all the same a fascinating story.
Though, I must say I much more admire Shackleton and there is also some information on him at the museum. Find out what this man did for his fellow companions! THAT is truly fascinating!
The entrance fee was cheap - at least for retirees - and to be in Sweden!

If you are driving between Linköping and Jönköping, be sure to plan a stop at this ruin. The view from the ruin over Visingsö and the surroundinh farming area is absolutely amazin. Great place to run around and stretch your legs. There are restrooms and a restaurant at the reststop as well.

A family company where you can see candy sticks being made. You can also buy different kind of candy, souvenirs, toys and then some.. Here you find the new tastes and always friendly reception.
One of the little shops i the tourist street of Gränna where you can see how the "polkagris" (candycanes, candysticks) are made. The "prince" behind the Glass Window makes a real show of it. You get to taste the just made candy when it is still...MoreHi and thank you. Welcome back :)

Fantastic place! The fika is really good, loads of love in the products and home made pies and chocolate fudges etc. Everything is ecological and environment aware. The owner even has her own little bumble bee house so that the bumble bees can pollinate all the flowers and vegetables! It's truly amazing. And of course, the view is stunning. Vättern and Visingsö right outside the window.

An interesting shop where you can not only buy Swedish candy, but also look at the full cycle of production. The history of the origin and distribution of sweets. Very specific taste with liquorice candy, but many are like. Traditional white-red "hook" (lowest) cost 0.5 euros.

If you love chocolate, this is definitely a place to visit, a chocolate lover's dream. The owner, Christina, is extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, and speaks English. She was very patient with us while we tried to decide what to get. Samples of the different flavors are available before you purchase. The variety of truffles is extensive and they are divine! One bite and you are hooked. We enjoyed them over several nights with our wine.

Actually went to buy some bottles of their new Christmas Glogg with polkagris taste but left bag full of their candies. Couldn't resist now when Christmas is coming and I would have bought some candies anyway. So, why not from Granna Polkagriskokeriet.Thank you for those Words, always welcome to visit us again.

Unique outdoor experiences in beautiful swedish nature. Enjoy a off road trip with fields, pastures and forrests in our trip "Wild about Drefseryd" or get your hands dirty in "Farmer for a day". Meet cattle, sheep, chicken and horses and experience real swedish countrylife. To make sure we can give you a nice experience all farm visits must be booked.
We travelled around Sweden for a month and we wanted to swing by Granna to try the famous candy. We wandered down the main street to Hallska Gardens and found this little beautiful shop, Drefseryd! Jenny, the owner, was lovely and showed us all their natural and local products; we especially loved the sheepskins, honey and eggs (all of it is from her own farm!).
Jenny invited us for a farm tour with happy Petter, her husband, the next day which we really enjoyed. We got to see all the animals (horses, cows, sheep, chickens, rabbits...), visit the barn and get the whole experience of how farm life is.
We would definitely recommend both the shop and the tour (even more if you have kids!)
