What to do and see in Gran Canaria, Canary Islands: The Best Walking Tours

April 23, 2022 Leonardo Torrence

Welcoming, tolerant Gran Canaria offers a little something for everyone. Families flock to the water parks and beaches of Puerto Rico. Those seeking peaceful escape scamper to Mogan's quiet fishing villages. Gay visitors crowd the bars, restaurants and beaches of Playa del Ingles. Urban attractions are on offer in Las Palmas. Three highways open up the island for those with a rental car or a bus schedule. Prime sites to visit include Iglesia de San Juan Bautista de Arucas and Palmalitos zoo park.

If you are looking for a more personal and higher quality experience than the large bus commercial tours, the team at Sky Rebels is it. They were fun, friendly and knew the local history of Gran Canaria. Throughout my day trip with them, they answered any question I had and clearly enjoyed showing me their island and culture. The picnic lunch used all local ingredients and was very tasty. They paced the hike up to Roque Nublo very well, with each stop being a perfect chance to point out more history, geology or just an awesome view. Really enjoyable day.

Highly recommend this tour!!! The electric bikes were great fun, super speedy but also easy to get the hang of. Lorenzo was an excellent guide. Really knew the history of the area and took us along a mainly coastal footpath route mostly avoiding traffic. The highlights were a sunset cafe where we stopped for a drink/ice cream and the grand dunes- Lorenzo kindly extended the tour so we could enjoy the magnificent sunset over the dunes-which was simply breathaking. An excellent tour and excellent guide- highly recommend!

It was a great experience working with Aljosa. Although it was our first time doing a pre-wedding photoshoot and we were nervous, Aljosa made us feel at ease and gave us directions on how to pose. He also had a clear idea of what sights and locations would make for beautiful photos. Needless to say, we loved our photos and would highly recommend Aljosa to take yours! :)

Our winery has an almost unique historical heritage in the Canary Islands. For example the Lyon press of 1912 in perfect condition, our three wine presses, which you will not find anywhere else and of course, our wine museum, with old machinery, such as the electric destemmer-crusher, brought from Barcelona in 1915 , books of agriculture of the early twentieth century and oenological products of the time, among many other things. And of course, our winery, with that unmistakable aroma, in addition to our Saint San Juan, located at the bottom of the winery in honor of our founder, Juan Rodríguez Quegles. Of course, we can not forget about our vineyards, with that perennial soil, from the Bandama Volcano, which gives our wine excellent organoleptic characteristics. Currently, our vineyards are in conversion to ecological, so the vision of the land is even more charming.

Inclusions: Wine tasting, Cheese tasting, In addition to wine, bottled water is included.
