Antonio Padrón Museum-House: As indigenous research and art centre, this institution belongs to the Gran Canaria Island Council, created with the aim to acquire, preserve, study, exhibit and disseminate the works from this painter born in Gáldar (Gran Canaria) and the movement that raised the need of founding a Canary art tradition which could reflect both island identity features and a way of seeing Nature and interpreting its social reality from the indigenous side. This monographic museum has experienced a long history of over 40 years within the cultural environment of this town and the island. Settled in the former workshop of the artist, it contains the most complete collection of Padrón's works.

This contemporary museum is a nice juxtaposition to the historical area of Vegueta around it. With free admission and regularly changing displays, sometimes controversial, it is always worth a visit. It provides a fresh and creative perspective of Las Palmas.

Small museum behind the cathedral that is built on levels around a courtyard. There are 5 rooms that house these sacred objects. They are 1) Silk or Treasure Room, 2) Chapter Room, 3) Ante-Room to Chapter Room, 4) Accounting Room and 5) Ground Floor Room... The Silk or Treasure Room houses clothes used during mass and treasures from previous eras. The Chapter room has furnishings and is where the Dean and Cathedral Chapter held meetings. The Accounting Room has a series of pictures representing Canarian Art and Flemish paintings. The Ground floor rooms are devoted to wood carvings, alabaster pieces, sculptures and a Museum exhibition of 14 drawings donated by Jesus Arencibia. It is small but impressive...
