A luxury boutique resort.
Enormous beach, really nice, great waves for the kids. No shade whatsoever. Can be very windy. Pink sand? It’s probably just me having troubles with colours....
Not much parking. Access to the north of the old resort. And you can take the sand road parallel to the beach further north to Twin Cove Beach

Designed as a showcase for native plants and their importance to the people of The Bahamas, the Preserve features Gardens and wetlands designed by world-renowned landscape architect, Raymond Jungles, as well as trails through over 20 acres of natural areas. Walk with nature in this sanctuary for over 300 species of native plants, 65 species of birds, and 100 species of medicinal plants. The Preserve is operated by the Bahamas National Trust and funded by the Leon Levy Foundation. It was developed by Shelby White, trustee of the Foundation, in honour of her late husband, Leon Levy. The Preserve is the first national park on the island of Eleuthera.
Worth stopping in and looking around. Much larger than I thought it would be. Saw turtles and even a snake.

Oceanview Farm is the only riding facility on the island of Eleuthera. Our trails appeal to nature lovers, bird watchers and horse enthusiasts alike. Meander along the stunning lake trail then on to the beach where pink sands meets aqua sea. We have horses to suit every level of rider. No prior experience is necessary, we want our guests to just relax and take in all the natural beauty of our island in the sun.
The ladies running this farm are definitely animal lovers and take great care. The stables, pastures, and grounds were spotless, they were extremely informative and friendly... and the horses were very healthy. They limit the rides to 2 per day (each one hour) and are in the mornings, I assume so the horses stay cool. They take great care to make sure everyone is safe and has fun.. walking trails only but how better to start your day in paradise than riding a horse along a gorgeous beach? They also sell shirts and such - which I didn't realize until I got home..

A book lovers dream. Charming old building with lovely views. Great collection of books including an excellent reference section on the Bahamas. Membership fees are really good value, even if you are just staying a few weeks on Eleuthera - you will have access to lots of books and also computers and wifi. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

Last year we fell in love with twin coves Beach and visited several times. This year we only visited once. Part of that had to do with the fact that we were exploring all the many other Beaches of Eleuthera. However, the day we visited on this trip we found that there was a lot of seaweed on the beach. The snorkeling here was decent although cut a little short. My fiancee was scared out of the water in the southern cove by an overly friendly barracuda. At that time we switched to the other Cove and were able to see a nurse shark. We still consider it a gorgeous location and We will visit again; hopefully there will be less seaweed next time.

We rent jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, snorkel gear, body boards & more. Located at Buccaneer Club Restaurant & Bar in Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera. We deliver island wide. See our website for more details.
I had visited Buccaneer Club restaurant in Governor 's Harbour and came across Harbour Water Adventures paddle board rentals. The location was extremely convenient, close to a harbour where we paddled for the day. I can't forget to mention how helpful Kris was. He set everything up for us. If you ever vacation a trip to Eleuthera, I highly recommend Harbour Water Adventures.

We stayed on the Atlantic (I believe both sides are the Atlantic however everyone differentiates them by Atlantic and Caribbean, likely due to the calm beautify turquoise water) side of the island just across from Ten Bay, which was windy. With a short drive from the house we were at Ten Bay and it is beautiful.
The water is crystal clear and calm. You can walk out a great distance and still only be waist deep. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery and if you have children it’s a great place for them to spend the day with little worry.
Some days we were there were only a few if any people there, but one day it was a packed house. We packed up a cooler and brought chairs and enjoyed a few days there. Unlike the beach at the house we rented this was calm water and no wind. There are no-see-um bugs and mosquitos so spray yourself accordingly, you’ve been warned.

Captain Paul knows the area so well that there is never a bad day fishing with him.
He takes the time to find out what you would like to do and caters to you. He has a couple different boat choices and his son Richard is a great Captain as well, you can't go wrong with either of them.
I enjoy fishing with him because he knows the area, he is such a sweet person and takes care of you.
His prices are great for what he offers.
Come see the incredible fishing South Eleuthera has to offer. Deep fishing water, targeting mahi-mahi, wahoo, sailfish, kingfish, cobia, and tuna. Bottom fishing is available upon request for same rates. "Double D and I" is a 32' Stamas twin diesel sportsfisherman. There is an enclosed cabin, full galley, enclosed head, and v-berth.
