Goleta, home to University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) and the Santa Barbara Airport, hugs the coast 12 miles west of Santa Barbara. First called "The Good Land" by the Spanish, Goleta was once known for its rich agriculture, and smaller scale farms still pepper the landscape. The California Lemon Festival at Girsh Park is a must-see every October. Visitors seeking outdoor adventure can fish off Goleta Pier, surf at Campus Point and hike along bluffs overlooking untrammeled coastline.

My daughter, her friend, and I had the most wonderful time on a 2 1/2 hour ride with our guide Randy. The scenery was gorgeous and, as one of our first outings during COVID-19, we savored every moment of beautiful countryside on horseback. Randy was the BEST! He was so charming and a gifted story teller. What an extraordinary horseman who we look forward to riding with again. Circle Bar B is a very special place and everyone there was lovely, friendly, and professional. Can't wait to do this again, saddle soreness and all!!

A long sandy beach near Goleta Point.
A wonderful place to stop for a picnic. Free parking, restroom facilities, picnic tables, a playground and grills. Not to mention lovely views of the beach and coastline. And for those show want some exercise, it is right along a dedicated bike path, and a very short walk to UCSB.

Designed by William F. Bell, this 7,000-yard golf course features beautiful rolling fairways and challenging greens on a spectacular seaside links-style layout.
Very well maintained course with a fun layout and absolutely amazing views. It looks a lot like Torrey Pines, but significantly less expensive. The staff are incredibly friendly and provide great service. I would highly recommend playing here if you're in the Santa Barbara area.
