Golden Bay Kayaks is one of the best little kayak companies in New Zealand, situated in one of the best kayaking destinations in the world, which is why it is such a popular destination for all kayakers from beginners to the more experienced. The closest kayak company to the Abel Tasman and the ONLY company that lets you paddle the entire length of the park. They specialise in half day, full day and multi-day rentals. Amazing instruction on the simple, no fuss guided tours. The personal touch makes this a high value and extremely memorable experience. Perfect for those that have not kayaked before or very little or for those keen to learn about the Northern end of the Abel Tasman's rich history, geology and wildlife. Stand Up Paddle boards also available for hire. The most amazing way to experience the easily accessible Tata Islands, which are a fantastic destination to explore nature so close.

We loved our two-hour trek through the water, on the beach and in the hills. We were carefully matched with the most suitable horses, given good information about the behaviour of horses in a group and felt safe at all times. The guides were encouraging and helpful to everyone in the group, and were friendly and good fun. A very professional environment with well-cared-for horses. We’ll be back! Nico and Jane

We got four seasons in 20 minutes, and sand-blasted to the max to go with it, and didn't regret a second of it - even if the weather at the beach was horrible. Looking at he photos a week later, all we could remember was the stunning views. An easy over-farm land walk and a bit of soft sand at the end, this is accessible to most, and the views of the arches in the rocks is one of NZ's best kept secrets (although there were about 20 cars in the carpark, so maybe the secret is getting out.) About 25 minutes scenic drive from Collingwood along the bay-side road, this place is definitely recommended, just expect it to be very windy!

Farewell Spit Eco Tours began in 1946 as the mail delivery to the lighthouse keepers on Farewell spit. Farewell Spit is a nature reserve and bird sanctuary. Summer home to wading birds from the Arctic and also a growing Gannet colony near the end. Our hand picked local guides love to share their knowledge with people from all over the world, many of whom return on subsequent visits to our country.
