The south's premier Western Horse Riding Centre, training all aspects of western horse riding. .western horse riding & Trail , Experience days, want to be a cowboy/girl for the day?
I have been an English rider for a lifetime but after losing my own horse wanted to try something different. Since riding at southern schoolmasters I haven’t looked back. The yard is friendly, horses are well trained and would suit all abilities from complete beginner to those that want to progress on. Kirsty and Tina are experienced tutors and lessons are super fun. It’s not just about riding in a big saddle the aids are so different to English. I have learned more about the horse, the way they move and respond and feel after every lesson I am becoming a better rider. Topped with a trail out. Just pure bliss. Give it a go.

ARTHOUSE Meath provides a truly purposeful enterprise that empowers, celebrates and showcases unique talents. Artists create beautiful designer artworks, with an injection of fun, that challenge perceptions and encourage fear barriers to be broken down. Over 70 ARTHOUSE Meath artists collaboratively work together throughout the week alongside professional art instructors to create saleable artworks. Some artists are dealing with brain injuries, physical disabilities or impaired sight and memory, and others with the ever-present fear of life threatening seizures, the majority require 24 hour support. These sessions yield a treasure trove of inspired designs, with each artist bringing their own unique way of seeing to the work to the group. The artwork is developed into designer quality products and stocked in over 160 outlets in Europe, including The Conran Shop, Tate Modern, Discovery Shop and Amnesty International. ARTHOUSE Meath has also produced designs for Lush cosmetics, with more collaborations in the pipeline. More than 30 volunteers feel responsible purpose throughout the week supporting the artists; packing online and trade orders and selling in the shop to the public. It brings the community in and the artists feel accepted and integrated and see that there is true value attached to their own skills.

The Village Spirit Collective produces unique craft spirits with the local community. Our distillery features a bespoke state of the art copper column still infusing our spirits with subtle and nuanced flavours. Come and have a look round, taste our range of gins and learn all about the production process.
We had a brilliant time doing the ginfluencer teaser experience. Was a brilliant way to spend our afternoon and Ian was great at explaining the different mixes of botanicals and which complemented each other. Would 100% recommend to anybody who enjoys gin and wants to learn about the flavours and processes that go into creating it. We will definitely be coming back as it was such a well thought out and perfectly executed experience that was very personal and felt as though it were tailored just to our preferences! The gins sold there were also delicious!

The garden is now open from 12th March - 13th June 2021 daily 10am - 5pm, from 16th June - 31st October we will be open Wednesday - Sunday 10am-4pm. See website for more information. Ramster Garden is a stunning woodland garden of over 20 acres, famous for its outstanding collection of rhododendrons and azaleas.
Firstly we'd like to thank the owners & staff for their efforts in opening the gardens to the public at this difficult time. Normally we would visit in May when the Rhododendrons are at their best but even in mid-June there are still some in flower. This garden is very peaceful, mainly trees & shrubs & some very tall Gunnera's!. There is also a couple of water features & a woodland walk which adds to the beauty & interest of the garden. The woodland walk does though involve different levels so may not be best for those with walking difficulties but this is only a small part of the gardens, there's plenty of level walking. There is also a facility for take-away sandwiches, cakes & tea & coffee with picnic tables near the car park. All in all an excellent day out & well worth a visit. Don't miss it.

A tranquil hillside arboretum created by Dr Wilfred Fox in the early twentieth century, now cared for by the National Trust. Open 363 days a year with stunning botanical displays all year round.
Such a beautiful place! Lovely for a short or longer visit with a variety of walks and areas to explore. Most of the walks have some steep areas, so it may not be suitable for everyone, but the cafe is easily accessible. Lots of plants, flowers and wildlife to be seen. We went on a partially rainy day, so some of the paths could be a little slippy and one of the pathways was unfortunately closed, but we still got to see quite a lot of the Arbortetum. The cafe is relatively small, so if there is bad weather, there may not be room to sit inside, but lots of seating outside. Would gladly visit again, worth the visit if you have a NT members card.
