Best flying show I have seen, really interesting education about the birds and very passionate people, the birds welfare is a priority and they do some great work - we loved it so much we stayed for the second flights, highlight was the Sea Eagle in flight and the Burrowing Owl and the x4 kites flying together, peregrine was amazingly fast and the European owl so silent, vultures too were fascinating, highly recommend for everyone - food was good too at the cafe and locally sourced and rubbish recycled. Do go along and support them as I imagine it is very expensive to run, they do rescue work as well and breeding programme for the endangered species.

Fascinating one hour tour with a short walk down the pit. Very informative and insightful. Couldn’t fault Richard who was our patient guide (and also a miner) - a real character with a great sense of humour. Loved it. Great cafe too.

I bought my son a 'pub at Home ' from Hillside Brewery to help him celebrate his 2nd lockdown birthday at home and it was brilliant! The beer especially went down very well. The box contained a 5L keg of beer, a bottle of wine, 2 beer glasses, a couple of packets of crisps, a pack of playing cards and a spotify playlist. Great present, speedy delivery.

The Palace Cinema Cinderford

Reviewed By rebeccacT7040RQ - Gloucestershire, United Kingdom

This is our family's favourite cinema in the area......let me tell you why. You are assured of a warm welcome in this wonderful cinema with very affordable prices for families. Housed in an Art Deco building with original fixtures and fittings, tickets are priced at £3.50 and reasonably priced refreshments include a range of hot & cold drinks, savoury snacks, sweets and popcorn in a variety of bucket sizes to suit. The seats are comfortable and it's warm and cosy, with two screens: a large screen downstairs (which has some double seats) and a smaller one upstairs. Great for children's birthday visits, as the cinema has a lovely Art Deco cafe room at the back where families can meet up to drop off their children beforehand - it's like stepping back in time. Always showing the latest films and a matinee available too. We love the Palace!

A very interesting afternoon. Our guide was informative and, over a welcoming glass of wine, told us about the history of this new vineyard and how the various grape varieties are used to make the different wines they produce. We also saw the pressing in operation and the fermentation shed, where the equipment was spotless. Then the hightlight - the tasting! We were given a range of different wines to try and the oportunity to buy if we liked them. This was a very relaxed afternoon.

Thornbury Castle

Who hasn't dreamed of staying in a romantic castle tucked away in the English countryside? You can at the 16th-century Thornbury, which is a perfect home base for exploring the region of South Wales, the Cotswolds, Bristol, Wye Valley and Somerset.

Reviewed By triedamdtested - Coventry, United Kingdom

We bought the afternoon tea at an local auction the castle had kindly donated. Fantastic selection of teas and a beautifully presented selection of sandwiches, quiches, scones and cakes. Didn’t realise the castle had been taken over by a hotel chain so many changes since my last visit over 20 years ago. The grounds are spectacular with the two heli pads as you enter through the walls. A lovely place to watch the birds dancing in the skies and dream of days gone by.
