Gloucester Brewery

Gloucester Brewery was established in October 2011, in the heart of the Gloucester Docks. It's creation was founded by Jared Brown and Bev Booth, who were passionate about creating modern, full flavoured, hoppy and distinctive beers. Their initial creations were Gloucester Gold, Mariner and Dockside Dark. All have won awards and have remained the core range. The Brewery and Brewery shop moved in early 2015 to a new larger premises within the docks, a disused malt house with an incredible industrial rustic feel to it. This allowed the expansion of the brewing facility as well as the online shop and the introduction of the events venue which is available for private hire. The shop is open 6 days a week, Mon - Sat. The Brewery is open to the public the last Friday of every month, details on the Gloucester Brewery website. Pre-booking is essential. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Came here with my three year old on a saturday. She loved looking at the planes and getting to play in the various different plane cockpits. The ticketed tours of the larger planes are well worth it as well, staff are friendly and informative and for free admission and parking it's well worth a visit.

Our first escape room in many months, and we were proud to be the first customers to walk through the door on their first day of opening since lockdown. A friendly welcome greeted us with excellent consideration to Covid precautions throughout. We tackled 'The Butcher' room and despite being an experienced group with 15 or so other escape rooms under our belts we still found this room fairly challenging, only escaping with seconds to spare! Thrilling to see the last few minutes ticking away on the countdown timer and such a buzz escaping in the nick of time! Plenty of thinking needed to solve puzzles plus physical clues to find. Great fun though and the theming was excellent. We booked an early slot on a weekday so it was good value too. Recommended to all and we would certainly visit again for the other rooms if we're holidaying in the area again.

Gloucester Cathedral offers at least 3 tours (costs range 7-13 GBP) and they are conducted by volunteer locals, so I feel fine paying/contributing. I took the Highlights and the Tower tour total of 30min and 1hr respectively, (couldn't fit the Crypt tour) both done by lively docents who know their Norman vs. Perpendicular architecture and history. book when you enter. You could walk around on your own, but having a local guide you also get more interesting commentary.

Popped in out of interest on the Saturday. Friendly staff gave us a tour. So impressed returned for sessions the following day. Kids (6 and 8) had first real experience climbing. They did the Mice session and had a fantastic time. The young lad taking the session was great. The kids really warmed to him and threw themselves into it. I had a play bouldering which was really fun and challenging. Really helpful, friendly staff. Good feel about the place. Well run and fun. Highly recommended.
