Generally a quiet place graced with lovely terrain for strolling, Glastonbury is very busy in the summer because of its music festival. Best known for contemporary music, the festival has attracted almost 200,000 people in recent years (whereas Glastonbury's full-time population is only 9,000 or so). There are a number of historical monuments to see in the area, including Glastonbury Lake Village, Glastonbury Abbey and the Somerset Rural Life Museum. We can't say that the weather is always good, but on a sunny day you can't go wrong!

Somerset Crafts is an Arts & Crafts Gallery at the Avalon Marshes Centre, BA6 9TT. We display & sell the work of our members, who are artists and craftspeople living in Somerset. Nearby are the beautiful nature reserves of Shapwick Heath, Ham Wall & Westhay. The Avalon Marshes is an ancient wetland landscape on the Somerset Levels, home to a large variety of wildlife. The spectacular starling murmurations on the local nature reserves are a sight not to be missed. The Avalon Marshes boast of Stone Age, Iron Age & Roman dwellers in their vast cultural heritage. Inspired by these beautiful locations, our art & crafts include ceramics, stained glass, jewellery, oil, acrylic & watercolour paintings, photography, handmade soaps, stone sculpture, textiles, furniture & wood turning. We discovered Drapers by Googling Car Parks near Glastonbury Tor. They charge a mere £2 a day and they are the nearest car park to the Tor. You pay in the Factory Shop, packed full of beautifully made shoes, boots and gloves etc. Great bargains for quality goods!

What a find. Thousands of amazing, interesting, cheap new books. Esoterica, nature, food writing, politics, special interests - bring a wheelbarrow. I grabbed about 15 books in the small window of time my child allowed me. I intend to visit this shop at least once a year for the rest of my days. Spend a few quid and leave with riches.

We source high quality materials from all over the World aiming to work with organic and sustainable growers wherever possible to create high quality products such as Aromatherapy essential oils, incense, bath oils and botanicals. We work with the cycles of the Moon to collect materials for our magical lunar infusions which we then add to all of our magical blends.
We were enticed in by the lovely smell from the incense burning and what a lovely find! Son was impressed by the music playing and I loved the range of goodies available! I felt under no pressure to buy anything and my questions were answered knowledgeably. I did make a purchase...and returned a couple of days later for some other bits! They also sell online which I will be making use of x
