My friend and I are travelling across Canada and the US. On the stretch between Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore we happened upon this place having seen a roadside sign. We just fancied a driving break and had no idea what the museum was about. For...MoreThank you so much for your visit and your kind words. Have a great trip and please stop again next time you are through Wyoming.

A two hour tour for $5.00 is worth the money. We had an excellent and educational tour of the mine. Our guide explained in great detail how the rail cars are loaded, the coal is mined, the trucks are loaded and dumped. We had plenty of time to take pictures and ask questions..

Came to Gillette for the weekend leading up to the solar eclipse. We were very excited to try Gillette Brewing. Arrived Saturday early afternoon, the festival in the street was in progress....Gillette Brewing was OUT of many of their own beers, they had beer from other breweries,
Very disappointed. It's not like they didn't have 40 years to plan for this event, Seems like they would/could have brewed more of there own varieties to have on hand for what was to be a large event

This was our first stop when we arrived in Gillette. The lady there was very friendly and informative. This is where you sign up for the Eagle Butte Coal Mine tour and pay your $5. Lots of good information in the center about Gillette and the surrounding area.

Big Lost Meadery manufacturers mead (honey alcohol), unique beers, food, and honey vinegar. Come down to try a delicious mead cocktail, a rare beer, or just come down to experience an atmosphere unlike any others around. Big Lost caters to minute details within their building to provide an experience that will last with you for a long time. So drink out of a horn, play some games, and have a conversation again. Cheers and Get Your Pillage On!
Passing through Gillette on our way west and we found this Meadery just down from the brewery. Fantastic interior with recyling of the wood, loved the different styles of tables. Highly recommend a stop. The downside was there were only two choices, can't wait until more varieties are available. Jeff, was an enthusiastic and informative individual, thanks again.

You will find a 4,000 sq ft Relic Store combining antiques, handmade & Up-cycled items for sale. There is an $8 admission into the museum. Group, Military & Senior rates are $5. Children 12 & under FREE. In the back of the building you will find a 8,000 sq ft museum where we are preserving the history and nest-alga of the automotive & transportation industry. Lot's of oil & gas related decor, including 16 classic cars. We do love Hudson's so you will find a lot of Hudson memorabilia in the museum. Also included in the museum is a collection of many unique items that make up an old Main Street Town. This is a private collections started by Leon & Jeff Wandler. A stop that you can not miss!!
Thought there would be more to this. Not much of an antique store and overpriced on what they have. Actual museum in back had some cool things if you like Hudson cars and primarily Hudson cars. Saw one Nash, but expected a bigger variety. Overkill on gas pumps and neon signs. We have been to the Wheels of Time Museum in Dunlap, Illinois and took hours to go through it, so much to see and quite the collection/variety, and they don't charge, strictly on donation. We paid $10 and had much better time. Definitely would not take little kids here.

Is a very nice park, very well taken care and clean. Excellent for small kids. The lake is beautiful and you can fish. There is a path that goes around the lake aprox 1 mile. Great for running, skates, bicycles, walk....

AVA art has a lot of stuff. They have classes, galleries, and other areas for educational use. The only downside, is for someone like myself (a ceramics guy) it's a little tougher because the high school has many more attributes. But, for fine art, on the whole, it has great characteristics.
