Rising up as an indomitable peak at the gateway between Spain and the African coast, Gibraltar is a unique destination with a life that goes beyond its surface. The monolithic Rock of Gibraltar entices tourists with its lush greenery and the friendly Barbary Macaques ubiquitous to the area. Beneath its looming exterior lay the Galleries, a veritable labyrinth of underground passageways running through the Rock. Above ground there is also plentiful tax-free shopping, as well as numerous beaches.

Rock Escape Rooms offer the increasingly popular and exciting activity of escape rooms in Gibraltar. Players have 1 hour to work together to crack codes and decrypt riddles to escape the room! A thrilling and also memorable activity for anyone.
We did all 4 games during our 6 day stay in the Holiday Inn Express which is right next door - just a small door between some little industrial units, 10 mins walk from the main town. Travelling with teen boys, we found there weren’t so many things in Gibraltar that was of interest to them so this was the highlight of their trip, and not messed up in any way by Covid restrictions! We enjoyed and completed all the games, with only a few clues, and they’re suitable for beginners or experienced gamers alike. Some fun unique tasks and I liked that they generally flowed well so it wasn’t too difficult to work out which bit to do next. I’d definitely recommend!

The Garrison Library is an amazing and delightful survival in an atmospheric colonial building beautifully preserved and presented. But wait! There's more - it is also a perfectly functional and functioning research library, full of treasures, which are open to consult and visitors are assisted by the friendly and helpful staff. I was able to spend a productive and enjoyable several hours there and it was the highlight of my two days in Gibraltar. Visit, even if only to admire one of the remarkable relics of Britain's colonial past.

National Museum of Gibraltar.
We had a fantastic time at this museum. Deceptively large, very well presented and an affordable price. We particularly enjoyed the Neolithic exhibition and video( which my daughter insisted on watching three times) .The Arab baths were fascinating .The full scale model of Gibraltar fascinated my teenage son and there were all sorts of curiosities to pique the interest of anyone( mummies, snakes in jars, Japanese armour etc) The lady at reception was lovely and clearly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the museum. Two other staff we met in the museum were equally kind , knowledgable and enthusiastic .It was a pleasure to see museum staff proactively engaging with visitors in a non intrusive way. They even pointed me in the right direction for assistance with a ticket problem I had for other sites which was successfully resolved.I would suggest visting here first before anywhere else, in order to put anything you see after in context.

I don't often leave reviews, good or bad, but I was shocked to read the one left by Wjj0906 in July 2020 and feel compelled to try to redress the balance. I discovered this gem (pun intended) of a store during my stay in Gib at the end of 2019, and went back several times for gifts and a treat for myself. I also needed to make an exchange for an item I didn't choose well. On each visit I was welcomed with warm smiles and friendly words, by both the ladies who look after the shop. Their range and choice of products, including some lovely pieces made locally, are miles above anything else on The Rock, their prices represent excellent value and, most importantly, I never felt rushed or pressured as the service is friendly, calm and genuine. Go on in and find out the truth for yourself.

Beautiful church in its own right with heaps of history. As a regimental church it has a lot of history. Good information available to inform our visit. Dated from 1460 there has been a church here since shortly after the Spanish arrived. Lots of changes and additions since then and we enjoyed reading the plaques and commemorations. Clearly a very special place to the regiment and people of Gibraltar situated beside the Governors house. Look for the flags and pennants hanging in the chancel, these could tell a few tales I'm sure. A very peaceful place and worth 30 or 40 minutes of anyone's time.

Visited whilst at Europa point . The side road that says no access other than military vehicles you can walk along from the car park at Europa point . The shrine is right in the middle of army barracks and the Uni of Gib . There are eight or so parking spaces outside the shrine if you can get in ! Shrine has a small plain chapel off it where a candle (proper not electric ) can be lit . Make a visit and take one if the explanatory notes in English of the shrines history .
