While Atlanta is the anchor and capital of Georgia, you can aim in any direction to find distinctly different regions – from the tail of the Appalachians in the North to the rolling Piedmont hills and on down to the seaside marshes in the East. Atlanta lays claim to the state’s number one attraction – Stone Mountain State Park. They say it best - “Serious fun. Endless adventure.” Just 15 minutes from downtown, the world’s largest exposed granite dome is surrounded by 3,200 acres of natural beauty and stimulating activities for every member of the family – sky rides and hiking paths, laser shows and pedal boats along Stone Mountain Lake. Golfers tee it up, while red foxes dash across the fairways in a state where the Masters Golf Tournament creates revered green-jacket memories every year. It’s a long downhill ride down to historic Savannah, a ‘stone’s throw’ from the Atlantic and a virtual step back in time to Southern architecture and stately squares. St. Simon’s and Jekyll Islands offer barrier island beauty and a wonderful combination of outdoor activities, historic sites and artistic culture. Originally the private winter playground of wealthy northeasterners, Jekyll Island stretches along 10 miles of coastal beaches and inland marshes. Cycling and walking paths wind under moss-laden oaks, and a tour of Millionaire Village takes you back to those Cornelius Vanderbilt and J.P. Morgan days. The kid-friendly Summer Waves Water Park adds man-made fun to natural water sport activities. Coastal golf courses and sophisticated St. Simon’s Island appeal to moms, dads and vacationing couples.

Great small old-fashioned baseball field; home of Macon Bacon minor baseball team. Went here for a baseball game honoring veterans. Built in 1929, today, it is the second-oldest minor league stadium in the country.

Philips Arena, named for founding partner Philips Electronics and home of the NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers, NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and WNBA's Atlanta Dream, has hosted many top tours and events including: U2, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Kenny Chesney, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Disney On Ice, Harlem Globetrotters, Sesame Street Live and so many more!
The sightlines for basketball are terrific and the renevations they did here are top notch. I was really happy with the concession prices since going to sporting events back in Chicago, concessions can get a little pricy. It was east to get in and out of the arena, and parking was only 11 bucks, can't beat that for an NBA game!

I have had UGA season tickets for over 40 years and attended most of the home games in Sanford Stadium during that time and also as a student at UGA. I have watched this stadium improve and expand over many years to the very best in the SEC. It is beautiful, well designed and comfortable even with a full house of 94,000 fans.

Went to minor league baseball game. The facility is not large and homey. The concessions were quick and the stadium personnel very hospitable. Bathrooms were small but very clean.

A GREAT place to watch a game. They always have good deals for food and drink. Watching games here you can see tomorrow's stars and they play REALLY well. Fun to argue strategy from the stands and there are no bad seats in the house.
