The history of the foundation and formation of the Gelendzhik Museum of History and Local Lore is inextricably connected with the history of our country. Political and economic transformations, revolutions and wars, the change of state power, undoubtedly affected the development of the museum. Over the past more than a hundred years, the museum may be said to have been "born" three times: in 1909, 1920 and 1949, it was closed twice. The museum consists of the head museum and two structural divisions: "House-Museum of V.G. Korolenko" (opened May 21, 1964 in x. Dzhankhot), "Battery No. 394 of Captain A.E. Zubkov" (opened April 12, 1975 between the village of Kabardinka and the city of Novorossiysk on Mount Penai).

The main epochs of the global culture and aesthetics are represented here on the area of more than a hectare: the Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, Middle Ages and Renaissance, Eastern and Orthodox culture, the culture of the Caucasian. It forms a unique effect of the Unity: different “time points” and architectural styles coexist and complement each other in one green space, making up the Unity. Egyptian Sphinx, a Pharaoh’s guard; an obelisk proving that the royal power is the will of heaven; a pyramid full of the spirit of the ancient civilization... Author and creator of the cultural center-Aleksey Aleksandrovich Ivanovich. We invite you to the journey in the Staryi Park!

Perfect embankment with great views of the bay. Very clean and well maintained. One of the longest embankments in Europe, which is great for walking and cycling too. Lots of attractions and lovely cafes on the way. Great place to chill and definitely one of the most significant landmarks of the Southern Russia.
