Historic site of North America’s first maritime radio station (installed by Marconi in 1904). Location offers a lookout with scenic vistas as well as the possibility to visit exhibits covering Marconi, light house keepers and the history of radio communication at Pointe-à-la-Renommée.
Gaspesie is rich with historical lighthouses, but this one was definitely our favorite to visit. You can also find short hiking/walking trails are on site.

Although on the whole, the hiking trails don’t match up with those of the Gaspésie National Park, the view atop the Mont-Saint-Alban trail might be the best of all Gaspésie trails. Cap-Bon-Ami also provides an epic viewpoint that provides access (via several levels of stairs) to the beach. This is also a perfect spot to appreciate the local population of Double-Crested Cormorant.

I highly recommend visiting this place. It’s all about the experience, information and insights shared by your guide. Ours was really interesting, taking time to explain many historical misconceptions and providing insight into cultural traditions and lifestyle. The museum portion is quite small, but well put together. The gift shop has quite a number of interesting local items - including bannock and other food products, and handcrafted items. Our guide’s name was Tim and he was excellent. The highlight were the two songs he sang for us. Amazing!

The site is the heart of Gaspé restored as it was in the 1900s. Historical figures animate each location and share historical facts on the history of Gaspé with guests. You will also find the famous reconstructed Jacques Cartier Cross that illustrates the claim of 1534. There will be a variety of free events and activities throughout the summer season. Souvenir shop and tavern on the site.
Maryse - was the best thing of our day. She gave us the local insider tips and was so helpful in guiding us to get as much of Gaspe in in the short amount of time we were there. We tried to go back on the second day and say thank you but unfortunately she was not working. so Kudos to you Maryse you made our 2 day pass through very memorable.
