A boutique Spa and Lodge surrounded by forest and embraced by the beauty of nature: imagine the crackling of a wood fire, the echo of the birds and the sway of the leaves in the breeze, the glow of candles taking you further and further into undisturbed calm. Nourished by food, bubbly and nature; transformed by the power of massage and water. A space to connect with those you love.
My partner and I had the most wonderful experience at Forest Nature Spa, from champagne on the day bed upon arrival, to two hours of being transported into a state of total relaxation by the wonderful hands of Abongile and Josephine followed by a lovely lunch. I would highly recommend this establishment to superb experience. We will definitely return next time we visit South Africa.

Unlike the usual passes which take you over the mountain, here you drive through the mountains, following the river and surrounded by towering, absolutely breathtaking rock formations. Best of all, there are three rest stops with super clean toilets and picnic areas. Stop at the waterfall and amble up for views and a bit of leg stretching.

Located in the heart of the slow town of Sedgefield, Lake Spa is an oasis of serenity. Lake Spa is perfect escape for a day of pampered rejuvenation. The spa is located on the banks of the Swartvlei Lagoon and offers a vast range of tailored experiences, ranging from pure relaxation to unique wellness journeys. Treatment packages are available for couples along with a diverse spa menu.
I loved that she left me to sleep. These treatments should be relaxing, that is why we go. Most therapist want to know your life story, but Portia did not ask 1 single question, she just pampered me and that is what I needed. Thank you Portia, you know exactly what you are doing...it was wonderful.

The museum consists of more then 640 laundry irons, mostly rare and some only existing examples left. Also more then 50 rare washing machines and mangles dated back from the 1800, some are claimed to be of the only remaining in the world. The museum are packed with other rare antique laundry related items. Some non-laundry related items are also included.
Make sure you see the video prior to browsing through this wonderful museum. Spent a good hour and a half here and we were amazed at the thoughtfullness that has gone into putting this collection together. Both my hubby and my kids (teenagers) found this to be a hidden gem! If you're in the area you should give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

A working art studio where the resident artist engages with visitors , provides demonstrations and gives advice to artists and collectors
We were wandering around Knsyna on a sunny afternoon, and happened to pop into Jan’s studio. What began as a chance stop-in turned into a wonderful experience talking with Jan about his interesting life as an artist. He kindly offered us water, coffee, or wine, and made us feel at home while we looked around at his incredibly unique art pieces (all finger-painted!!!). His kind nature was apparent through his artwork and his actions. We really enjoyed talking to him and ended up buying some small pieces and a unique wine cork board. I wish I had pictures to share. An absolute must!!!!!!!!!!
