Gadsden is a city in and the county seat of Etowah County in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is located on the Coosa River about 56 miles (90 km) northeast of Birmingham and 90 miles (140 km) southwest of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is the primary city of the Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has a population of 103,931. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 36,856, with an estimated population of 35,837 in 2016. Gadsden and Rome, Georgia, are the largest cities in the triangular area now defined by the interstate highways between Atlanta, Birmingham, and Chattanooga.

Theatre of Gadsden

The Ritz Theatre opened on July 4, 1928, with Wallace Beery in “We’re In The Navy.” It was first located next door to its current site and spent its first five years as a nickelodeon. Today, the Ritz is home to the Theatre of Gadsden, producing some of the world's best shows with a fantastic crew of actors to provide fun and entertainment for the whole family.

Large park featuring waterfalls.

Saw the sign for the falls & campground.... Free entry.... $6 to visit the park area with petting zoo, animal displays, historic buildings, train ride around park! Found the gorge trail & down I hiked! Suspension bridge, roaring river, dramatic waterfall, statue, chapel, playground, campground..... absolutely breathtaking scenery! Highly Recommend

We visited mid morning and the weather was perfect. The trail was clean and shady. We saw several friendly people along the way. We especially enjoyed the bridge over the lake.
