The full day was great in whole. The caves are beautiful-definitely a sight you should see. There were a lot of students on trips but it's fine because you get put into a group with your own language guide. Horses are breathtaking and the history is interesting I wish we went on a day where the horses were "working" meaning you could ride them. We went on a Monday so that is the resting day for the Lipica horses-they train and trot all other days. Despite that, we had a lovely tour of the farm and interacted with the horses in their stables and learned about these unique majestic creatures. Pick up and drop off was right on time - car was comfortable and our guide found a good place for us to have lunch before taking us back into Trieste

I cannot more strongly recommend the regional wine tasting my wife and I had in Trieste with Alpe Adria. Gabriele was the wine guide for the tasting. He was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Michele helped organize the event and we liked it so much we subsequently booked a tour of the Carso area just outside of Trieste which was also excellent. The wines chosen were excellent, accompanied by tasty salami and they adapted the event to my knowledge and enthusiasm for Friulian wine. Thanks guys!

Come and discover the real Trieste, a cosmopolitan city, with an official, professional and kind guide who will introduce you to all the important places that have marked the history of this wonderful city. From Colonia Romana it has become "the little Vienna on the sea" thanks to the Free Port for being today a city dedicated to science. The tour of Trieste can only start from its magnificent Piazza Unità d'Italia, which opens onto the Gulf of Trieste, surrounded by splendid neo-classical style buildings. We will take a tour to discover the history, literature and art in a unique city with testimonies ranging from Roman times to the Middle Ages to reach the splendor of the Habsburg era. We will visit together its Roman remains, the medieval part with the splendid cathedral and the Hapsburg part passing along excavations, churches, squares, palaces, the grand canal and grand café. The city famous for its strong wind, called the bora, awaits you!

We had an excellent tour with Marina as our guide for the Piran & Istrian Flavors tour. Istranka was easy to work with booking our tour and responded promptly. We were picked up at the port and driven to Piran for a short walking tour of this scenic village with 15th c Venetian Gothic architecture with some free time on our own. We then drove thru the countryside to a small family owned winery for a tour and tastings. Lastly, we drove to Marina's horse farm for a short tour and then a fantastic lunch she had prepared for us that included appetizer, soup and salad, homemade bread, gnocci with wild boar and panna cotta with figs in wine sauce or strawberries. My mouth waters thinking of it. I had set up the tour on CruiseCritic for 6 and the others indicated this tour really had a WOW factor and they felt fortunate to be on this small tour. ONE of the VERY BEST TOURS we have ever taken is how I would describe our tour with Marina.
