The Emotion of Time and Land. A landscape, of stone, light and vines in the heart of the Saint-Emilion appellation. A family property, an architectural and winegrowing heritage, an uncompromising and convivial spirit. A history rooted in Saint-Emilion and influenced by the 18th century Age of Enlightenment. A new page, a new sustainable winemaking inspiration. A way of life, an understated, elegant and open-hearted hospitality. Between the acquisition of Château Montlabert in 2008 and the inauguration in 2020, the Castel family invested time and resources into drawing up the outline of a new history and a new ambition. For 10 years, the focus has been on listening to and understanding the terroir in order to build a winery based on sustainable excellence. Hospitality is part of the very soul of Montlabert. This is why the estate has decided to open its doors to wine enthusiasts seeking to discover a property, a family and an appellation through its wines.

At the heart of the communal appellation of Saint Estèphe, Château Lalande Tronquoy has indisputable natural resources. Today Tronquoy Lalande is one of the most privileged terroirs of the region. The property is open to visitors every day of the year without an appointment. The weekend, the property remains closed except during the summer.

A hillside facing south, overlooking the Pyrenees. An exceptional location combining site, climate, grape varieties and historical know-how : a unique 'terroir' to make unique wines. For more than 400 years, Guirardel's vines have been taking energy from the sun, and the wind; elements from the soil to produce the raw materials necessary to give birth to our Jurançons. In the field and the cellar we use ancestral natural methods, modern thinking and installations, rigor and above all: passion.

We took a picnic lunch and followed the Sentier Viticole path up from the Mairie into the vineyards. We stopped and had lunch by the chapel among the vines. After our walk among the Mosbach vines we headed to the Cave in town to taste some of the family's wines. Christophe was so welcoming and we learnt a lot about Alsace wines. The Domaine's wines are fabulous. I was worried that our two young children would be bored, but Christophe was so kind and thoughtful with our 5-year old daughter. Luckily our 22-month old slept through the whole thing (we chose to visit around nap time on purpose). A wonderful introduction to buying wines at the vineyard for my husband and an unforgettable day for us all. Many thanks, Christophe!

Love this Pecharment wine maker. Excellent wines, lovely old chais full of oak barrels. Good value and friendly knowledgeable team to talk you through the tasting. Not cheap, but good value.
