Join us to experience the thrill and fun of target shooting. Our experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly team will make sure your visit is a blast! Rentals, ammunition, targets, and accessories are available and no experience is required. All are welcome, including out of town and out of country guests.
I have not been to a lot of other ranges, but these guys offer most of what I have needed. I had an instruction class with a new AR and I also took the LTC course there. Both instructors were great, patient and answered all questions. Andrew Bailey sighted my AR in with new iron sites and broke down and oiled the new firearm. I bought and had the sites installed at their gunsmith shop. Thuong Thai was knowledgeable and also patiently answered questions from a class room of 7 participants for the LTC Course. I have also utilized the range 7-8 times in 2020 since purchasing my firearms, the staff is friendly and helpful. They have private and the more standard public lanes. They will sell ammo with the rental of a lane. I like that they don't time you, most lanes are by the hour, ShootSmart is not. However, I have rarely stayed much longer than an hour. Prices are reduced through the week, raising a few bucks on Friday-Saturday-Sunday. As noted above, they have gunsmiths on site. They offer other classes that are worth taking, too. Although maybe not as fancy as the Texas Gun Experience in Grapevine, they are cheaper (including the ammo) and it actually fits my needs better, including by being closer to home.

Defender Outdoors Shooting Center is the premier indoor shooting and shooting sports retail facility in North Texas. Our facility is 43,000 square feet and features 30 pistol and rifle lanes, firearms and shooting sports retail store, event facilities, training center, machine gun rentals and more. Located less than a mile from downtown, Will Rogers and the Stockyards.
What an amazing facility! And if the 20 pistol lanes, and 6 rifle lanes are not enough to convince you, then check out the club room with pool table and foosball, as well as their laser shot facility! But wait there's more! Their trainers are amazing! They are so knowledgeable and so willing to help. Even if you have just rented some time on a lane, and have a question about your weapon, or a technical question about your shooting form, Range Safety Officers are more than willing to help. Well, within reason. They are there to monitor safety. Some think membership rates are steep, but with unlimited, zero cost lane reservations, $5 weapon rentals, free eyes and ears, and unlimited guests, it seems worth the price to me.
