Very cool place, you can get out and walk around. Once you go over the small hill you can see the Bison wandering around, and the fake gunfire in the background to keep the birds away, very cool

This is an excellent presentation of the history of the oil sands, the technology involved, the challenges and the opportunities. Very understandable and extremely well presented. A definite must see!

It’s all here! From its humble beginning in 1978, the Island has undergone numerous expansions to create what is now known as MacDonald Island Park. Home to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre, Miskanaw Golf Club and Shell Place, the Island has the venues and experience to host large sporting events, concerts, banquets, family programming, camps, and a variety of other community collaborations. MacDonald Island Park, operated by the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo, a not-for-profit corporation working in collaboration with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, continues to offer new initiatives, programs and services making it an integral part of the Fort McMurray community.
Great for the whole family. Always something going on, great meeting place. Love the library, sports events, pool and work out area. Lots of curling, skating, raquets sports and golf too. You can catch a hockey, football or baseball game here, go to a trade show and so many awesome concerts. A real gem for the community.
